A lot of people arent aware that CJ was playing hurt all of last season with a bad shoulder injury. He didnt play in the bowl game to jump start his recovery after surgery. Now both are fully healthy and I suspect CJ will have a great season and show everyone the progress hes made since his shortened freshmen season.

Forgot about the other 1400 yard rusher on UCF apparently.

I appreciate that you included both WVU backs but I believe at least one of them is top five for this list. If CJ can stay healthy he will make a big impact. Coach Brown wants to be a team that runs the ball. Some of these teams are air raid teams so their running backs won’t make as big of a mark. Best of luck to all Big12 teams this season! HailWV

Tahj Brooks is underrated for a back in a system that is air raid

Oklahoma State fan here. Tahj Brooks is neck to neck with Ali Gordon. Run hard between the tackles.

As a Big 12 BYU fan, the best choice is OSU Ollie. BYU has a long road to prove any grid Iron cred. With that reality check, LJ Martin will carry the rock for the Cougs. YES, Gordon regardless of the O-line level of excellence. The rest of the league will be as tough as any conference rolling out in the '24' season.

Brooks should be no lower than 2 on this list. Most forced tackles missed in the nation last year and it wasn't even close. All the arguments made for Neal could also be made for Brooks.

Tech should have more depth behind TB this year. Last year bc of health and inability to pass block, there was no one behind him. I also think the passing game will be more efficient. There were way too many drops last year. Main reason for the turnover at WR.

Sama stats were very good at the end of season because he got to play more. The other 2 running backs even left before end of season. If he doesn't get hurt he will be as good of back as anyone in conference.

My only issue is Sama over White. Take out the snow game and Sama’s stats dramatically fall. Also 12 Carrie’s for 4 yds against Memphis in the bowl game. White had more yds and a better average, factor in receiving, White is way ahead.

I am surprised you didn't mention Jacory Croskey-Merritt of Arizona. Last season he ran for 1,190 yards for a really bad New Mexico team. He has a good OL this season. He is going to be fun to watch.

I would put Corey Kiner from Cincy somewhere on the list. Maybe bump Skattebo or Hishaw.

Arizona's Merritt and Conley are ranked #2 & #3 by PFF for returning RBs from last year. And Arizona returns 4 starting OLs. But new coach and scheme so I get it.

Sorry it's the same scheme at Arizona
What don't you understand about 80 percent the same stuff and 20 percent of what San Jose State done
Who is the associate head coach for Arizona
      Does are his own words
      So don't kill the messenger
      Just like on Defense
Arizona is doing the same thing except one main difference on the line
And Quali was the number two running back at San Jose State and had over 800 yards
And folks forget the fact that Brennan recruited and developed Brandin Cooks at Oregon State
