  • Hi, welcome to my channel, I'm Cassie and I'm often known as mammacass. I am a severe rheumatoid arthritis patient, living with constant pain and rheumatoid arthritis associated interstitial lung disease. You can find me on google+, Pinterest with my "autoimmune me" board and Facebook with my page "Rheumatoid Arthritis-Interstitial Lung Disease" if you are struggling with life with each or you know someone who has the disease please do look us up and feel free to comment and subscribe for regular discussions on life with RA! I'd truly love to hear from any of you :)
I'm also a single mum and foster mother, I currently have four of my own children (1 has grown up and has his own home) and a foster daughter, though she recently turned 18 but seems eager to stay with mammacass. I've fostered five children in total over the last 15 years. As I'm now fully disabled and housebound, I like to keep myself busy making natural cleaning and bath and body items for myself, my family and friends. I've always loved to craft and found this all came to a stop with my RA diagnosis, paper crafting is no longer possible with my hands but over the last year through watching the fabulous soap makers on TH-cam and with the help of machinery, I've discovered a fair few crafts I can do to some level! This has given me a new lease of life, a feeling of self worth and achievement....which can be difficult to maintain when you need your children's help to get your bra on and off! My 19 year old son is my full time Carer and I have a 13 year old son and 12 year old daughter who make every battle and every day worthwhile no matter how bad the pain! Anyway that's my waffling done! Lol much ❤️ and breathe easy folks! 😘

wow, just wow, have you ever thought of writing a book? I think that would be good for you, and a great thing for other ppl

Atomic Balm bath n body haha funny you should mention it. Yes I truly wanted to write a book but in July I was admitted to hospital, the advert on this video is kind of what I'm diagnosed with now, except it's not idiopathic it's caused by the rheumatoid arthritis and with that it seems I don't have time to write a book, my lungs are seriously damaged now and it won't be long before I'm oxygen dependent. I feel a strong urge to get my story out there and leave some kind of legacy for my kids and to maybe help people get their diagnosis before it gets as bad as mine did...then I won't feel my forty years here have been a waste... I never really got to achieve many things I pursued to improve my life, careers and studies that I never got to complete. The book is in that list so I found a few peoples stories here on TH-cam helpful but couldn't find much about the lung involvement so I though my videos could show my story xx

Cassie honey, I've been oxygen dependant since 2004, I belong to a support group on facebook by Dr Noah Greenspan I highly recommend you join.
      facebook.com/groups/UltimatePulmonaryWellness/?ref=bookmarks
No-one can tell you how long you have before your lungs give out. Being oxygen dependent doesn't mean you can't do things, honey. Some of the life stories will give you encouragement and amaze you.
Start working on your book honey, you'll be surprised hôw much life yôu have left when yu finish it.
Wishing you all the best honey.

I know great choice by google/TH-cam hopefully some of the guys coming from the Facebook group may well click those adverts, which would be nice. I've never had two pennies to rub together so if people watching my videos can help the world and at the same time whatever these adverts do bring in will be there for my kids. As much as I like creating the natural products we like to use, I know I'm not capable of doing it as a business. I literally have nothing of any value to leave my family.., I should have graduated last year and been employed with a Bachelor of Arts degree. I never expected things to turn out how they have lol, I swear five six years ago I barely realised I was a grown up yet... I missed being the got it together prime of your life bit and headed straight to pensioner x

June Gaul thank you I've requested to join :) I must admit I'm so much more hopeful and believe I can survive longer than suggested since I started my Facebook page and this channel, its crazy cos at first I just thought OMG I'm gonna die and soon! And since having got to meet and talk with people like yourself and many of my FB group are much further advanced than me and surviving so much against the odds that I do now think there is no way I'm being taken from my babies before they are grown up, the younger two especially have no one but me and their older siblings so I won't be going anywhere not yet. Infections are the big issue especially as I have children who go to school and catch every bug, I just have to know when it's time to get help. In all honesty I would feel much safer if I had the oxygen at home. I understand they don't like to concede to it till absolutely necessary but there are so many times, especially if I'm ambulatory that my o2 is dangerously low.

What do you use to record your videos? earbuds that have a mic aren't that expensive will help with the sound. I have to turn my speakers up to 96 in order to hear your voice.
    Blessings.

June Gaul I'm on an iPad and iPhone now I thought it would be better on them, I have a Bluetooth headset and mic I could use, I've increased the volume on my voice. I think it's partly because I struggle to exert my voice much with my breathing and partly cos I'm quite shy on camera so I do need to speak louder

That explains a lot, turn the mic volume up as far as it will go. If no improvement, then the Blu-tooth headset will help a great deal, honey. Also, if you still need to use the on board mic try having the device pointing at you head height.
An on board mic has limits. They have a range that's like a 'v' starting with the point at the mic and the rest of the 'v' faces you. If your voice waves are within the 'v' it's easier for the mic to pick up. Some mics have a very narrow 'v', I hope this helps honey.

So welcome honey, I understand about breathing and tälking. Take more breaths, don't worry about trying to finish a sentence ẃith one breath. Practice diaphragmic breathing, it's something we don't do when our lungs don't function right.
Most importantly, relax when talking and don't worry about how it ôunds täking more breaths.

Im terrible for it lol my kids love it when i cant talk whenever i get the chance ill start rambling on (dont get out often lol) and thats when i take notice of how bad my breathing really is, its like i panic to get the last if my sentence out. My son Dec is always like "mum stop! And breathe!" Haha
