Works on the 15 model, make sure to move the cover to the right not down, when you put the filter back in wriggle is back and fourth so it doesn't get caught on some of the plastic pieces, and when putting the cover back on if the screw doesn't go in make sure it's put on all the way forward.

Exactly right. I just broke one of the clips because it looked like he just ripped it off. He explains that there are clips on the install but when removing it not at all. Now I’m one clip down, 5 to go I think.

I purchased Purolator C35586C at Advance Auto Parts.
I also used in the past MANN CUK2939 I buy the cabin filters with the active carbon.
Original VW part # that was removed form the car (installed by the factory) was: VWAG 1K1 819 653 B

At the most critical point, you fail to give an important bit of information: to remove the filter cover, push it to the outside of the car. If you just pull down, you'll break off all the plastic tabs, like I did. Also, to install filter, you need to "inchworm" it up, because it will catch on the inside walls.
