I was born and raised in the southernmost province of the Netherlands, and when I was 16 I went to school in Rotterdam to train as a sailor. After obtaining my diploma, I sailed for 3 years with the then largest Dutch company, Nedlloyd, one of the largest in the world with more than 120 seagoing vessels. you visited the Princess Margriet and the Princess Beatrixhaven, where nowadays only small container ships are allowed (you only see the big ones in the containerports at the Maasvlakte ), but in the 1970s I sailed with the then largest container ship in the world, the Nedlloyd Dejima (almost 300 m long) still docks in the Beatrixhaven. Of course, a lot has changed in Rotterdam since I went to school there... and I enjoyed what you captured on camera. Maybe next summer I will manage to take a harbor tour with the Spido and breathe in the sea air again. ❤️
