I liked it at first, because of the minty tingle. I diluted it. But I eventually noticed a whitish cast after washing. I used a chelating shampoo to get rid of the buildup and never used it again.

I love Dr. Bronner’s for my locks. I have used it from the beginning of my lock journey. I am 11 months locked. I use the Peppermint soap for my hair. I think it cleans my hair but doesn’t strip it. I love that it is a natural product.
I also use the Lavender and Rose scent for my body.

I love this soap, I use the peppermint. I use it for my locs, floors, dishes and general cleaning in the kitchen. I get it from Trader Joe’s it’s $12:99 for the 32oz bottle.

I use a mister and dilute it with water so that it’s not concentrated in one area. My hair loves this stuff and it gets my locs so clean.

I use this exact bottle of Dr. Bronner's and I dilute it with water as I wash my sisterlocks. My hair is fully locd and going on 6 years in February. I started using this last year for my hair and body. I use it for deep cleansing, then I deep condition after. I alternate between this and a shampoo bar form India. So it's my safe clarifying shampoo. But I always deep condition afterwards.

It works really well for my hair. This is my second set of locs and it’s the only shampoo I use. When I was loose natural it was a bit too much for my hair and I didn’t like it. First time I was loc’d two years. Now I’m 8 months with this second set.

I used it for the first time today as a shampoo and it was sooo soft!! I did follow up with Aussie condition because my hair tends to dry out pretty quickly. I read a comment about hard water residue so I’ll be watching out for that but so far nothing. I’ll see how it looks in the morning.

Hi, I've had my microlocs for 4 months. I have 4c hair that loves this soap. l use the peppermint one, I love it but the smell is pretty strong so u have to really love peppermint. But I will keep using it as long as my locs loves it.

I’ve used Dr Bronners in my previous sets of locs and it’d start out great then after awhile would be too harsh on my hair even when I diluted it. I won’t be using Dr Bronners again. On my 3rd set now and am currently using sulfate free shampoo, my main one is kinky curly not today come clean.

I’m definitely going to be paying close attention to my locs as I use it - a lot of people are saying that it starts out great, then it goes downhill with Dr. Bronners 👀. We shall see..

My experience with Dr. Bronner's was not a positive one. I tried it after having my locs for a year. It left an obvious, grayish looking residue on my hair. Well, I found out after the fact that their website stated that using castile soap in hard water could possibly leave a film on hair. I figured that's what happened in my case, so I've never used it to shampoo my locs again. That was 6 years ago, so I don't know if they have refined their formula, and at this point, I'm unwilling to find out. 🤷🏾‍♀️

Thanks for the info! I’ve also heard that the hardness of your water and the dr bronners soap can leave a film on your hair. I’m in Toronto and our water is considered ‘moderately hard’. But as of right now, there’s no film left on my locs after washing.

    • @ArtHustlerAcademy
      @ArtHustlerAcademy 3 ปีที่แล้ว

Yea that’s why I don’t use it often. They haven’t changed the formula. It still says that on the bottle.

I’ve used dr bronners before. It’s not my favorite. The saponified oils made my hair feel like I had sap in it. I start using kinky curly come clean or renpure tea tree and lemon sage shampoo. I’m glad it works for you though. The floor comment was too funny. I never used it to clean my floors either.

I have high porosity hair 4c and I dont think it is good for high po hair because it left my hair hard and it felt filmy and my coils just tightened up and stuck to my scalp. Coconut oil/cream does the same thing.

4c high porosity, wiry low density hair that doesn’t absorb anything well and likes a mist of water often hair here. Bronners made my hair feel like straw and left it filmy looking over several uses. . I also have a bit of hard water. This soap also makes my skin white and filmy when I showered with it. It’s supposed to be used for anything. This soap leaves a white cast on my dishes lol. I ran out of dish soap one day.
This isn’t good for my hair.

Yeah I was reading that if you have hard water it could have a negative impact on your skin and hair. Products react differently to each individual. Thanks for commenting☺️

Loll the funny thing is it’s a much cleaner soap than most shampoos - it doesn’t have a bunch of chemicals or fragrance. That’s what I care about. But I can see how the multi-uses aspect of the soap can be a turn off. I personally don’t use this on my floors 😂
