- Alicante Airport Spain Costa blanca be careful and allow yourself plenty of time to get to the airport unlike myself ! Remember there is another passport check before you board the flight, the gate C33 wasnt far away but there was a long wait until the boarding gate opened which was right next to the second passport check. I'm so glad I lived during times when air travel was enjoyable.
It was no Brexit back then. Those queues are because Uk is third country ..Nothing happens with Germans,french, Eu passports , they go straight inside the gate.
@@joaquincastello6174 Brexit was a huge mistake and even the Brexiteers are realizing that now. It will also be reversed in time. Already, loads of rule changes happening to try and get back some of the rights UK citizens had while the UK was in the EU. Spain and other countries actually want to try to make it easier for Brits as well because they make a lot of money from Brits. It makes no sense to make it hard for Brits to come to Spain or to live in Spain.

Just flew in from Alicante to Dublin yesterday. No queues for security just a queue to board the plane. I sat down and waited till the queue was almost gone and then boarded the plane. Nice and easy 🙂
Blooming ech,my husband said no chance going on holiday,this puts him right off.
It was fine in end but second check is right next to gate it's pointless.

I don’t like airports it’s the worst part of the holiday, the pilot always says enjoy you flight how can anyone enjoy sat on a plane for hours squashed in a seat with no leg room, anyway I hope you enjoyed your flight Kevin🤣

Back in few weeks just quick family break.
The airport experience is enough to put me off travelling.
Unfortunately Alicante airport isn't always geared up to cope with demand

We was ok when we went to Alicante airport because we got the jet 2 shuttle bus there and they always give you enough time to get there after all the hotel pickups 👍🏻😊

Why do you have to have another security check if you’ve already been through security once, I don’t understand it
The first security check is the same as before, to check your bags for liquids etc. The second check near the gate is a police customs check because the UK is no longer part of the EU, they now check/stamp your passport before you leave. It's the same when going anywhere else outside the EU like Australia, the US or Asia

I was at Alicante airport in march and flight was down that way
I flew from Malaga the other day. The queue to get your passport stamped before making it to the gate was horrendous. I wouldn’t call it a security check..the guys were talking to each in the booth and never looked at any passenger who’s passport they stamped. It just another piece of protocol imposed because of brexit to obvs check you out of the country. God help us in peak season..
Yip Jill it's a stupid system it's all tracked anyway when u scan don't know why stamp required.
Good old Boris and his mates don't have to ponce about with it, they have their own security and your paying for it!
@@ScotsmaninTenerife because you are a third country . That´s why they stamp your passport like to a Mexican or Vietnamese ..It´s easy to understand. Those laws were before Brexit withing the Eu countries. You enter as an inmigrant and the cops must follow your steps .. Like you do in the Uk today with the inmigrants.
@@ScotsmaninTenerife They are stamping passports so they know how many days you have been in the country as we are only allowed to stay 90 days max in a year now and that is for any EU. countries.

I was in malaga area in spring and the bus there went round the world as well.
Terrible experience at Alicante. Be careful if buying items at Duty Free. The Spanish gatekeepers will insist you can only board the Ryanair flights with one piece of hand luggage and make it clear you have to either get everything into your hand luggage or leave behind. My tip if buying anything in duty free, wear cargo pants with large thigh pockets in case you can’t get everything into your case. Packing bottles etc into your cargo pockets gets round the one bag scam as there, currently, is no limit on what you can put on your person.

@@ScotsmaninTenerife I’ve had to do it, Kevin. The guy at the gate watched me put two bottles of spirit and two bottle of perfum I’m my cargo pant pockets and had no choice to let me walk through the gate with one piece of luggage.

I've flown from there twice now. That wee burger place is nice but extremely overpriced. That queue at the second control point looked a bit insane.

Chaos at Birmingham and Manchester today Monday 9th May, 2 hrs at security staff shortages.

We got the Beniconnect bus to Alicante airport from Benidorm a few weeks back. Found their timings were a bit too tight for my liking. Duty free was so slow we had to put our purchases back, or risk missing the flight. Had there been bigger queues we'd definitely have struggled to catch our flight.
