This video was dynamite! More videos like this, please! I took a whole page of notes, this literally was teaching me how to figure out my own problems and solve them. Great tutorial and education.

Awesome 👍 So glad to hear that ! I'll make more !!
Thank Yo, Joel for making the best tutorials Ive seen in this area. Cheers.:-) I will start up Producer-courses in Oslo again, and will definitly contact You. Great Job.... Paal
Really great techniques, thank you! I watched a bunch of your tutorials and you seem to have a different approach about reverb, depending on the project you show in your videos. Let's take your exemple of violin track. On some videos, you route a mixer track to a bus and to a reverb send. On this one, you route your entire signals to a bus which is routed to your reverb send. What determines this choice? is this a particular case or is this a new way of working? (j'aurais pu commenter en français, mais ta réponse pourrait être bénéfique à d'autres :) Merci! )
Great tutorial Joël, Thanks! I'm really enjoying your channel and your other tutorials. I was wondering which headphones you are using? I'm looking to get a pair for mixing on the go and wondered if you had any recommendations! Thanks

Hey there! Thanks :) I use the Sennheiser HD800. Highly recommend.
@By all accounts they are incredible! My budget is a bit lower at the moment so I'm looking at getting the Sennheiser HD 600's, do you have any experience with these? Thanks again for the advice! Really appreciate it

@@magnusgreen8495 Hey! Yes I've tried them. They're a little narrower but sound totally fine and accurate for mixing :) Go for it.
Hey, at 11:02 you mention compensating gain for the EQ cuts, I wondered if you know about the autogain function on pro Q3 or just don't like what it does to the sound? Anyway, thanks so much for these tutorials, they're really helping me as someone who struggles with mixing in general!

Hey! I just don't like what it does. When I cut a freq it's a set amount because I don't want to hear it. If the sound needs to come up overall I will fix that manually. Glad my vids are helping you!
@ Ahh ok I see. Now that I'm learning what to listen for from watching your vids I'm amazed at how many of my sample libraries are unbalanced, and I didn't even notice because I just assumed they were designed to fit into a mix. Silly me
