Hi, Alanna! I would like thank you very much for this video. I'm from Brazil and, sometimes, I think about move to Cambridge for a while to study. I have been in Cambridge on April 2019 and participate the Brazil Conference at Harvard and MIT. That's change my life and my mindset. But, as you said, the cost of life is so expensive and it makes things more difficult. Well, who knows one day we find each other around the city? Until there, I'll improve my English. Please, keep making these videos. You're amazing!!
Hi, Gustavo! Wow-- You're ways away from here! I'm glad my video is still helpful for you. I live right in between Harvard and MIT! But you're right.... it is super expensive here. I think really what you have to do is plan accordingly. Plan out finances (how much $ for food, $ for rent, $ for transportation etc) so you're not surprised when you get here. Keep up the good work, your English is good! It will all get better when you move here :)
Cambridge was a great place to live until the late 90s.It was full of life and real neighborhoods.Gentrification has taken over and now if you are poor or even middle class you aren't living there unless you are in the projects or have a section 8.Its sad Cambridge is not like it used to be.

Hi. Thanks for your videos! You said the city is walkable (thinking about moving there soon). Is it all flat land or is it exhausting uphill battles? Haha..... I have a disability so walking is challenging for me, but I do love to walk. Thank you so much for answering
@@backtalk9343 haha, I get it! I am too ;) Actually, Cambridge is pretty diverse! I live right in Coast (so in between Harvard and MIT) and since I've grown up here, I've actually been able to see the population change myself. You have your areas where it's pretty Black heavy (Coast, the Port, and North Cambridge I personally think) but I've always been comfortable here seeing people that look like me. We consider ourselves pretty liberal here, so we're not hit with the micro aggressions here too often.

I can agree with this one. Gentrification is working it's way through Central Square now. Curious, how long do you think it'll be until it's complete?

Is it easy to get part time job in Cambridge?
I think it depends on the field that you're in. Part time jobs in the squares are very normalized, so I would say ideally yes!
