0 DTE - 3 Std Deviation option trades are called Unicorn trades... Great analogy! It is Awesome that you have been able to persevere and prosper in an industry where there is a 97% failure rate. As well as share your trials, tribulations and experiences with others so that they may also learn to grow and prosper.
Been actively trading 25yrs, I agree 100% with you. Option trading really should only be done via spreads for various reasons. Nothing beats futures for the tight bid-ask spreads and volume and volatility and instant fills either long or short.

Love your videos, been trading stocks for about 11 years now since i was 18, tried options a little and didnt like it much with all the greeks. Watched all your futures trading videos and decided to go paper trading route and made my first trade today for +230$ with a goal of 100$ a day to begin with. TY for all the info

Great advice! With my personality the only thing that works for me is only trading during my designated time frame in the day and then literally not looking at the market at all the rest of the day and just doing a quick catch up around 8 pm. That's the only thing that got me to break bad habits. When I was newer I always had FOMO and looked at the market way too much and would give up a lot of gains. You have to treat it like any other job and find a balance. Work during your time and be done at quitting time. Get in and get out. Don't look back at what you could have made on what. I also use to pick up a lot of quick hitters with small caps. It can still be profitable in total but the win rate is definitely not as high. You really just have to hold the line on your loss limit and catch some runners. Arguably not the best strategy though. Appreciate the video.

Although I am old enough to be your dad. I definitely relate to your thoughts and ideas. I have been trading for just about 5 months with options and there is a high learning curve. I started out being very disciplined and quickly got into too many trades following an online trading service and in 1 choppy trading week lost all my gains.
I am back to paper trading and following your advice. Thanks and I really enjoy your videos. 😅😅

The best advice I have heard in a while. Once I switched from options to futures I was able to progress much much faster. Options you have to buy at the right time, especially 0DTEs and most of the time they will just sit and bounce in a small range that’s not good for sellers or buyers. Not saying it can’t be profitable but for very few. I still do options, I just hedged on the the PTON and GME meme sticks, that was more of a gamble but also bit of experience, and both closed in the 115% range. But futures I find gives a little more room to maneuver
@@gormenfreeman499 no, you make a commitment to take or deliver, but if you are buying and selling same day or before delivery cycle you are ok. But you can roll the contract or just sell it etc. unless you plan on holding them past the date you have nothing to worry 👍

I love hearing from other traders. And trust me. I been there more than once. Usually, when the market opens for me is when I get some pretty good scalps and reversals. I usually do my trades in my 9:30am-10:30am range.

Very good video, you are right on with many of the mistakes I am making day trading penny stocks and exploiting short squeezes; wasting time trying to bail out of a hole just to watch the hole get deeper! Trading between 9:30 and 10 starts many of my holes, too many trades is another of my problems. I will tag this video to watch many more times. What are your thoughts on this type of trading?

Loved it been struggling this year not new trader but not profitable brakevens plus commissions of course so frustrated with my self I see banger trades but sell or buy back to soon have a 70% win rate say 60% to be on safe side per my spread sheet I track all my trades and looks like I take the reversal trades at levels but my entry's and lacking also use the 20sma to time the entry's. Is it all the brakevens and losses causing fear of entering the trade feals like it extremely frustrated 5 years 2 were gambiling now 3 years after I track journal but just not executing like I want last week 1 trade of course brakeeven again there were least 3 setups that I can't even say I miles just me being fearfully to enter sticks allready

What time frame do you trade on?. I trade on the 1 hour time frame and if my number one stock or ETF is bad that day I move on. I monitor 8 to 10 stocks and ETFs and out of those at least two of them have something good everyday. The most trades I would take in one day is two. Usually it's one in the hour. A time frame you gain a little more than on a 2-minute frame

I find trying to trade a slow/quiet /directionless market is a pretty sure way of losing money . So now I just accept that not every day is a trading day. Better to hit the next day level rather than down on the week.
Not really. There’s options you can sell for a stagnant stock. Research iron condors. That’s literally what it’s designed for. Gl

I don't know how anyone can trade on a bare chart. Only when I learned to read order flow from a footprint chart did I begin to win trades.
Naked charts are my preference
Everything else is just a distraction. It looks cool and makes me look smart but it doesn’t help me bring in the dough
I have a 5% max loss limit on my account. Even if I slip up, I get locked out till the next day. If this carries on I wouldn't know what to do

I make money always but then I have like 3 or 4 red days in a month that wipes all gains . Any specific advice on that .
Set a stop loss, use smaller position sizes, don’t trade against trends, set targets, set rules and follow them, analyze your trades to see what went wrong.
I write all mine done and analyze whether I win or lose to see what I could have done better
