The series will be quite informative... tomorrow's video is an introduction to the series (day 01 of traveling so we had barely left Guangdong province) with a few snippets of what's to come.
Thanks for sharing. It has to be a resourceful guy like you to make this trip. You are absolutely spot on. Your experience is vaulable to the Chinese viewers too as your type of long distance travelling is uncommon in China.
Should be interesting series. Sure would like to know more about your EV adventures. Pioneering times for EV. It's still in the early stages all over the world. Can't wait for more episodes.
Driving around in China is so much fun and adventurous. I have been to Qinghai twice. We chartered a car with driver and the scenery is simply beautiful.
This looks beautiful and I think you are by far the most camping prepared people I ever seen. Your cat is sooo fluffy! You must do a cat special one day
¡Buen video! Tengo una pregunta con respecto al carro, al ser extranjero ¿eres elegible para el subsidio del gobierno por la compra de un auto eléctrico? Si es así ¿cómo funciona? Un cordial saludo.
Recently, a channel (with English subtitle) recommended by YT popped up about a Chinese guy selecting an EV in China. In one section the salesman was telling the guy that their cars' batteries are all fully guaranteed for life. He says you don't even need to wait for the battery to completely dies. They'd swap a new battery for you whenever you need it for free! If I remembered correctly their cars can be fully charged in 15 mins or something!
What kw charger is that on the charging stops? In the us unless you have a tesla, cross country in an electric vehicle is a pain because there’s no charging stations by the highway other than supercharger.
It varies a lot. In Guangdong province 120~150 Kw is normal, plus many more chargers - almost every rest area has them on the highway - particularly on the G4 which goes to Beijing. But once we left fur Hunan and others... it dropped. 60Kw were common but often not on the highway. You'll see more details in the upcoming videos.
Sure, but even compared to America, Germany, or Australia - places I've rented, it's more expensive and troublesome. In addition, China does not adhere to the Geneva Convention on accepting driving license from participating countries for 6?months so... foreigners cannot drive in China = can't rent a car.
About 3 weeks... mostly figuring out where to make the appointments because they need an exact location AND there are many areas where there is no cellphone signal.
That generator is not normally used. Each costumer gets 12 free uses of it per year... most of them never use it because we charge at home or on public charging network. These options are only offered/available in remote areas of China - where in. fact, very few people drive EV.
Nope. Discussing camping toilets is not for the faint of heart but at the risk of offending people, here it goes... You place a plastic bags and add a powder in for fluids to become gelatinous... then dispose off when possible. I hang the bag outside the back of the car when not convenient to dispose right away. I recommend using black bags for obvious reasons.
@@FerMuBe And hopefully the black bag you use are strong ones and pray that it would not snap and hit the car behind you. It'll literally be a shit show for the car behind you. 😆😆💩💩
That's a topic I will cover... those deaths have become international incidents (particuyin this diplomatic climate) so there are restrictions. I'll talk about it in one of my upcoming videos.
You know, a lot of appliances for cars run off that electric plug. Vacuum cleaners, dashcams, GPS until, even DJI drone battery chargers. It's there for when it's needed - smokers or not - much like that cigarette ashtray in an airplane bathroom. Have you noticed those?
My 2018 (imported) Mercedes had it here in China. Anyway, an inverter cannot be used over USB so... I'm glad NIo has it - actually 2! They made these videos possible.
China Teacher Brand the GLE had built in inverter, so i get 120V out. Apparently the tesla had one too but i never used it don’t even know where it is 😂
Some stuff about verifying my address. They verified it once at the beginning, when I reached monetization like a year ago... and now they just flipped the switch and said, we gotta do it again. Now the videos aren't getting pushed much, viewed a lot less, etc...
Holy shit it's the spanish part of ur accent I couldn't get down. I should have known I live 2 hours from Mexico. My kids are Mexican and speak spanish as well lol
You probably know how many Latinos speak... hahaha. Funny enough, I get this all the time. Mostly people telling me also how I'm easier to understand than other foreigners. That helps in my job as an English teacher.
Bon, voyage! Have a safe and wonderful trip. Enjoy! Thank you for sharing!
Thanks!
Finally, a very useful EV long distance travel guide.

I've been looking forward to these videos, dude. This is going to be a great series!
The best part is the change of scenery...
All the appliances you have on your car make me jealous! I hope you have a fantastic trip, I know I’m excited to watch!
Wow! Very unique trip, very creative!
Thank you! Cheers!

a toilet, wow. i will have one someday😂 now i have some specific *bags* in my SUV, for short distance journey 😁
Go for it!
Very interesting video & tent. Will support from Hong-Kong
Thank you!
Great video and sorry for the abrupt end of the journey. Hope you bought some NIO stock at the same time you bought your NIO suv.
Not enough money!
If I had bought stock instead of the car, I would have both by now!
I'm just not a stock person...

Teacher, best wishes for your journey!😀🥳
Thanks! It was unforgettable

Couldn't agree with you more... the change of scenery is just incredible!
@@FerMuBe Qinghai is less strict compare to Xinjiang whereby foreigners are only allowed to stay in certain hotels.
Wow 8-900 km a day? Awesome driving! Best n blessings for the trip.
Thanks 👍

Thank you so much!
I was a boy scout as a kid so... camping is something I miss.
nice trip! enjoy it and show us more videos!
episode two coming around the weekend!
¡Buen video!
good video
Glad you enjoyed

We chose not to do battery swapping during this trip. But, yes, that is, a service we get - for free - as NIO owners.
Can’t wait to watch more of this series , that portable toilet looks disgusting 😂don’t they have highway rest stops
Those are worse!
Hahaha....
i am planning for a similar trip in China
Nice! Hit me up if you have questions!
What EV you have ?
Hi! I live in the US. What is your opinion for an American to drive in China. Are drivers there more difficult to share the roads. Thank you.
Yes, much like in Rome.
China Teacher Brand I like to drive there one day. Thanks for the information.
Did you visit Ningxia, where I come from?
The name doesn't sound familiar... we may have driven past...?
@@FerMuBe Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region. It's like one of those provinces in Northwest China.
Ah, then no. We just went to Qinghai the most direct route.

How is the car rental business in China?
Similar to how it works in the West. I've rented before but won't do it again. Rather pricey.
China Teacher Brand Thank you. Maybe you can do a video about that someday.
China Teacher Brand For the locals may be expansive. But for a visitor could be a good way to go. Thanks again.😊
Sure, but even compared to America, Germany, or Australia - places I've rented, it's more expensive and troublesome.
In addition, China does not adhere to the Geneva Convention on accepting driving license from participating countries for 6?months so... foreigners cannot drive in China = can't rent a car.
China Teacher Brand Damn! That sucks. My dream have just been Broken.Thank you for your information. 😂 LOL
Your English is very easy to understand and doesn't sound American. May I ask where you're from?
Thank you! I am from Colombia.
Wow you are adventures with EV. How long did you plan for this trip.
About 3 weeks... mostly figuring out where to make the appointments because they need an exact location AND there are many areas where there is no cellphone signal.
Did you put peanut butter on your cat to make the dog lick her? Absolutely adorable.
Nope... they're best friends!
Jun cats and dogs are living peacefully in China because the chineses are kind with animals !
I believe it's the good nature of both of these breeds. Labs are gentle and ragdoll cats are the "Labs" in the cat line up....
Sigh...Seeing decades until I can buy and use one in Australia...
Things might change sooner than expected... markets are pushing for EV's
That big generator burns lots of fossil fuels. What's the point? Trying to save one tree by burning down ten more trees?
That generator is not normally used.
Each costumer gets 12 free uses of it per year... most of them never use it because we charge at home or on public charging network.

without the hole is OK in manless area, but the police has banned the travel to manless area(Keke Xili) due to several deaths recently
That's a topic I will cover... those deaths have become international incidents (particuyin this diplomatic climate) so there are restrictions.
I'll talk about it in one of my upcoming videos.
hahaha... few cars around the area... but yeah, that's a possibility.
This "renewable energy" industry is really a JOKE.
What? A cigarette lighter? I was surprised when you said that. But then I started thinking and I forgot chinese men love their cigarettes lol

should be American
