I myself followed a yoga challenge and once learning all the limbs of ashtanga yoga, i realized i already knew and worked on all of the concepts aside from pranayama and something else. Because of my previous experience with life i naturally came to similar conclusions and rituals to keep myself in balance, as ive always had a very loud inner voice and thought deeply as kid, compared to being heavily extroverted. Thus this came to me more easily and earlier, although i certainly am no master of life and am still learning, it certainly makes me at an age of 22 feel like i can not communicate with people around a similar age unless they also had a similar unique life like i had or its in their nature to be the same. Nonetheless what im trying to say is that you dont have to just listen from some professional to tell you how to obtain that inner peace, its also just as obtainable, if not more healthier by learning from life as you go. Unless someone obviously has the wrong idea about something, theres no need to speak of things one may not fully understand, because they just arent ready for it yet.
Namaskar, this is the support team🙏 When a person first becomes acquainted with the technique of meditation, he learns that the greatest effectiveness of meditation can be achieved using a mantra. In our tradition, this is the mantra “Baba Nam Kevalam”. It has a rather complex meaning and is explained as a set of statements “The Supreme Consciousness is all that is” (manifested in everything), “Love is all that is” (manifested in everything), “Bliss is all that is,” “ Peace is all there is." You can replace “that’s all there is” with “there is nothing but.” These are good explanations to get into practice. This is exactly what people think: “What does it mean that Love is manifested in everything? What does it mean that there is nothing in this world but Love?” Such an explanation is nothing more than a positive affirmation - that is, self-hypnosis for positivity. This helps calm the mind and makes it more empathetic. On the other hand, such an attitude creates internal conflict, because we remember that we live in a world full of violence and contradictions. This is the first barrier in spiritual practice that needs to be overcome - to overcome the strength of beliefs about how the world works. This doesn't mean you need to think about it, it means that the result of your affirmations will be a paradigm shift. A paradigm is a limiting belief. There was one paradigm, it was replaced by another, broader one. This is what in yoga is called the expansion of consciousness. As a consequence, when a paradigm changes (expansion of consciousness), human behavior changes, since the new paradigm allows for a larger space of options, and therefore greater flexibility in actions. A reasonable question arises: what next? After all, the previous paradigm has already worked its way. It's time to begin the next stage of expanding consciousness and remember how the mantra “Baba Nam Kevalam” is actually translated. *_Baba_*__-the most dear, close, dear, beloved, intimate; __*_Nam_*__-to call by name, address, name, call upon; __*_Kevalam_* - only this, nothing else, *_kevalam_* also means that it is something unique, there are no two “kevalams”, something absolutely unique that cannot be repeated. That is, “I turn to the only essence that is in me, in everyone and connects me with all living and inanimate nature.” An attempt to comprehend this is unlikely to be crowned with success, but it creates a mood and sets the direction of thought. At this stage, it is important to remember how the mantra works. A mantra is a vibration, a set of sounds. Sounds are the most subtle manifestation of nature in terms of their impact on the human subconscious. Sounds are recognized by our subconscious even before the intellect understands what kind of sound it is. Knowing this property of the mind, yogis formed a phonetic table (a set of sounds, phonemes) that evoke a very specific emotion in our psyche (the inclination of the mind - _vritti_). It is important not only to keep the idea of a mantra in mind, it is important to feel how its sound works inside us. That is, all that is needed is to silently, ideally without using the speech apparatus, pronounce the mantra and listen to it, pay attention to what emotions it awakens. Why doesn’t it make sense to tell you what to think about? Because you have a paradigm, you need to realize it and transform it. Be receptive, forget about how it should be, pay attention to how your body reacts to the sounds of the mantra (even silent ones). Pay attention to what images come into your head, what thoughts - do not get attached to them, let go, they are not our goal, constantly remember the mantra. The mantra is our tool, the goal is the awareness of a pure idea, devoid of any paradigms. Best wishes, Meditation Steps🌸
