- The Pico do Arieiro to Pico Ruivo hike is the most famous, but also most strenuous hike on Madeira. 13 kilometers up and down over the 3 highest peaks of the island... some people say, only experienced hikers can do it! Will we make it as untrained hikers?

Have done this hike twice. The best hike I’ve ever done. Views are stunning. Yes it can be brutal in parts but it’s so worth it.

This is a brutal hike for normal people. I hate it when people say its easy, because they confuse people who don’t have experience doing hikes. Is brutal, lots of stairs. Not a fit if you don’t have trekking boots and speacially, don’t go with children. That’s insane.
Not so hard, not so brutual, but very very stuning.

Ein paar Stufen habe ich wiedererkannt und konnte mich an die Schmerzen in meinen Beinen bestens erinnern.
Schade, dass ihr so wenig in die Landschaft gefilmt habt (hatte mich auf Szenen über die krasse "Himmelstreppe" gefreut), und auch wenig gedrohnt habt (wobei es wahrscheinlich einfach zu windig war), denn die gemachten Szenen sahen schon top aus.
Insgesamt ein toller Hike den ihr sicher nie vergessen werdet. Genauso wenig wie die lustigen Outtakes (hab mich beömmelt bei sunset/sunrise) 😁
Jaa 😊 hatten eine ganze Woche Muskelkater in den Waden danach 😂 wären die Drohne auch gerne noch etwas öfter geflogen, aber es war echt extrem windig… der Hike war wirklich der schönste auf Madeira 😍 hahah freut uns, dass du darüber lachen konntest 😂

I confirm i just did it today and its very hard ... im drinking à béer at thé bar and i dont feel m'y legs anymore. Really need motivation for the way back . Lot of step ... gréât expérience but thé level is difficult
Please be informed that this hike is currently closed. From Pico Arieiro you can still manage to go to Pedra Rija but not further. (September 2024)

You have to go one peak to the other, but not necessarily back.
