The writing on the wall is from Animal Farm - George Orwell's book about animals rebelling against the farmer only to have the revolution taken over by the pigs who end as bad as the farmer. (power corrupts). It was originally about communism but it had a much wider message. There are nods to so many classics... .Animal Farm, Clockwork Orange, Willy Wonka, The Shining, Silence of the Lambs... there are definitely more.
an easy way to under stand ren's songs (IMHO) is to hear the disturbing lyrics as EVIL (satan) and the kinder voice as GOOD (GOD). if you take the bible literally, this video and many others of ren's make perfect sense. i have gained much comfort from his videos. i'm 71 yrs old, and i'm always finding uplifting great artists. but ren knocked me out , and i especially like the graphic drama. i grew up on alice cooper's art, even while he was just beginning and was using his ma's slip on stage (so the story goes). i was there backstage and it looked the part, but i can't verify who's it originally belonged to !
