I've been singing for many years now and learned this - I point the mic at my mouth - but not my mouth at the mic. I sing over it - past it - to eliminate puffing sounds. I hold the mic from one to two inches from my mouth. This method works great.
You weren’t kidding when you said you’re loud. I get some karaoke singers that swallow the mic and muddy up my mix!! I have to change gain settings for them

In other vids you talk about the Strat Plus (late 80's - 90's) being the best Strats, but you have also said that the Japanese were better? not sure how this works? do you have any favorites among the MIJ and do you know of a reliable seller (in Japan?) to deal with.
Yeah man, this is great, and the reason after doing the band for 20 + years, we do our own sound, why is it, that 80% of genuine sound techs think they know everything, but really, they don't know squat..I've been in many gigs where the soundman is in charge, and God help you if you offer any suggestions that will make you sound better. They get instantly offended, then they go all in on jacking up your sound. I realize they can work with alot of new bands and they may not have the experience to know what they may need, or not need. But a band that's been playing consistently for the last 24 years, just might know the difference of at least a few frequencies. I know, I like alot of lows, and low mids in my vox. And alot of mids, and high mids in my guitar, and I like to lower mids in my bass, and have plenty of lows and highs as I like a good thick roundwound slappy basstone, but I play with a pick. not my fingers, and, no muddy ass flatwounds.. can you please do a full tutorial on setting up an entire band from startup through mixing, to breakdown, and loadout. Alot of people just don't realize how hard the work is to be in a working band. A 12hr day can lead to 3 or 4 hours of travel, 2hrs of settup, 2 hours of breakdown, and loadout. All this for a 2 to 4 hr show. I'm sometimes exhausted by the time it's showtime, but then after the first note, I'm all into til the end. Then, breakdown,and loadout sucks. .
Great video! I Nice mixing board.I jusr bought my first Allen and Heath mixer. ZED-18 and I very impressed how well it sounds. I was wondering how you compare A&H with other mixers.
I experienced trouble when setting the gain in the mixer without the PFL button and only two main LED meter indicator lights were available, namely 'Signal' and 'Peak' only. Whereas in the channel strip there is only a 'peak' lamp, which is related to the knob gain on the channel itself. Are there good instructions sir?
Great explanation of the gain knob, Scott! I kind of wish you would've also talked more about the faders, unity gain, master volume, and power amp setting to finish up the gain structure.
Hey Scott thanks for doing these reviews, might be a dumb question but I haven't done PA in a long time, can you connect an external effects processor to this unit? Europower PMP2000 is the one I'm referring to.
