I'm just astonished by the resemblance. And thank you for making this sweet video. Ai is such a unique girl and extremely gorgeous. I wish her Daddy were alive to have helped raise her but Nene did a wonderful job. Although Nene has a side that can be a little spicy, she really is a wonderful little lady and a phenomenal mother to both Ai and Kiyo. Happy Birthday, Ai! Thank you for this video. It really explains a lot about Nene. Like Momoko, having a new baby without your silverback must have been so frightening and distressing. Fortunately, she had Oki. Also, Nene was captured very young so didn't have her natal group and had trauma. It is amazing she is such a good mother. Maybe her past explains how possessive and protective she is of her kids.
I agree. I always feel sad for the gorillas that were captured. It must of been so scary and stressful. Especially if something happened to mom or dad. The whole troop is loved by so many!🙂

I’m surprised with how popular Shabani is that it hasn’t been done. I watch a lot of old news about him in the early days. And the older gorilla channels put out wonderful videos of the troop. I’ve recently seen videos of a younger Haoko but none of Shabani.

AI is like Momotaro. His father died & he was raised without his father. I saw a video, his mate Genki, was originally bred with Momotaro’s father, but never got pregnant. When the zoo brought in Momotaro’s mother, she bullied Genki, so the zoo sent Genki back to her original Zoo. Genki is now with the son of the Sliverback she couldn’t get pregnant from.
