- I had this OST Project in my folders for some time now, and I find it dumb I'm just now uploading it. This is Rush 2: Extreme Racing USA for the Nintendo 64, a Nintendo exclusive sequel of the San Francisco Rush game by Midway. Yep...Nintendo 64 only. And honestly, it's a really good game. Plus...it advertises Mountain Dew; how can you not like that? =P Anyways, the game doesn't focus on San Francisco, but rather familiar and popular city locales across the USA. In each course, there's keys and Mountain Dew cans to find, not to mention crazy shortcuts to use to your advantage during races. Rush 2 also has music by Barry Leitch, which apparently did a lot of music back in the old days. Has some pretty nice music history, got to admit. I would say this game comes close to Rush 2049 in being my favorite classic Rush game. It's pretty close, and that's saying something if it can top a childhood favorite of mine. XD Regardless, this OST Project was not done with the files you might find across the internet, but instead, I recorded the music directly from the game itself. I have my reasons, but you'll see eventually why. Side note: This Title theme is one of the best songs in the game; hands-down. Easily one of my favorite game songs ever.
Holy hell the intro to this song alone brings back a WAVE of memories. I grew up on Rush 2. My brother and I would stay up all night playing this until we passed out on the living room floor, N64 still on. Weeknights, weekends, Saturday mornings, didn't matter. Always playing Rush

Me too! I grew up on this as well! Turning on low gravity, heavy mass, and invincibility, then playing around in the stunt track was amazing! I could do it for hours!!

spending forever customizing your cars. writing down all the codes and then losing them so you have to forever unlock everything from scratch again. never getting all the keys or dew cans. wondering how tf you even get to some of those dew cans. running over the rats in the subway. raging anytime you have to halfpipe track.

this game has a very special place in my heart, my brother and I would play this game everything thanksgiving before food together even long after we got an Xbox 360 with all the new best games. we still enjoyed simply for the memories

I had this game back in the mid 90's (actually, still have it). I don't know if I was terribly good at it, but I loved playing around in the stunt course. I've always loved the opening music.

Coming home from school circa 98-99, turning this on, walking into the kitchen, listening to the music as I filled up a glass of Mountain Dew. Man...oh....man, were those the days. Zero stress, all fun, booming economy, and every girl I associated with I could bench press as a skinny teen. Take me back

My dad and I played this game religiously well into the 2000's. Our favorite was a full 8 lap race around Seattle on the hardest difficulty...we even had a tally board on the fridge to record wins and losses. When we weren't doing traditional races, we spent hours and hours on stunt track getting keys and cans. The music will forever be engrained in my memory
The Ford GT90 Concept is one of the cars in the intro, so I think this is the first game to use a Concept car in a racing game

This is the most nostalgic thing I've ever felt in my life. Countless hours of running the Stunt Track as a kid with my bro. These were the best memories of childhood. Ugh.

Ahh I remember this game, it was like *the* game that I played when I was little. One of the games that got me into racing games, in fact. If only I had the N64 working again, I'd totally go back and play this. BTW, I really love 90's electronica.
That and Ocarina of Time, which got me into fantasy games, that and Morrowind.
Probably the most powerful intro for a racing game ever!

There was this one key on the stunt track, up in the corner off one of the side quarter pipes, that to this day I still have no fucking idea how to get. This game has one of the raddest soundtracks of all N64 games

One of the many games, of its time, where you allow the opening to play for several minutes. This game was just so fun to play with its arcade-style driving and its soundtrack. Trying for hours in the Stunt Track collecting Mtn. Dew cans and the feeling you got. Especially the one that hangs over the grass area.

Up until 3years ago (from 11 years ago about,) my brother and I lived in harmony, staying over at grandma's to play N64. The staples were Rush 2, Super Smash Bros, Pokemon Stadium (1 and 2,) and Super Mario 64.
Such times are gone, he grew spiteful of me and eventually went off to college leaving me in the waning years of High School dreaming of these fond memories.
Doing the end of my summer work as school is about to start in a car ride, I remember these times again, and also remembered I was no longer a stupid kid and could save this music in a place where I could always have it.
Thank you for returning this joyous past to my present.

press all the "c" buttons with thumb left n right bumber. and z on start menu opens cheats xD. spam the same buttons to unlock the individual cheats xD good times good times. i used to levitate soo high up and made sure my car hit the edge of a surface. so i could do some mad rad stunts. xD

1997 and 1998 I was in middle school, 7th and 8th. Easily the worst 2 years of my life. Getting bullied, teased, picked on. It was horrible. Didn't make too many friends either. But there were 2 things that got me through it all: Nintendo 64 and my discovery of the band AC/DC. And Rush 2: Extreme Racing USA was one of those games I could lose myself in. This game was a rock (no pun intended to the Alcatraz track) and brought so much joy. I'll always cherish it.

Another fact: I first played this on PC off a copy my brother my dad downloaded. thats how I learned of Rush 2. I used to have Rush on N64 tho my sister sold it lol
This game was one of my most played with me and my brother. We didn't get along most of the time but we got along playing this!
The pickup truck was my go to vehicle in the game, I just loved driving around the stunt course, doing tricks in it. Anyone else remember how there were Mountain Dew can collectables in hard to reach places?
