As scrub-gloves, the brand Atlas Nitrile gloves are top-notch. I am a chimney mason, and have worn them for two decades. Stronger than leather, they are tactile enough to pick up a thin coin. Also ergonomic, with a sleeve long enough to cover a watch. And it is thin and comfortable. I put a pair on when I start my workday in the morning, and I take them off when I'm ready to go home. When I go backpacking, they never come off until I sleep.
Great vid mate, got to hand it to you - more tips and advice in a few mins than most tubers pack into months of vid. Just might check your book thing out! Stay cool all the best. Clive. 😎 p.s Enjoying the journey is for me more important than reaching the destination. (Wise man once said)
I tell you where its easy to get lost, when you leave a heavily wooded area into open land. When you return, its very hard to remember where exactly you left the forest.
Keeping a light in the tent when it is packed up makes sure you always have one at night. Gardening or mechanics gloves. With your snack bar you don't need to eat all of it in a sitting/standing, but take a bite or two and carry on. Tarp/sheet: no need for eyelets, but a button/small rock can give you a better hold with a loop on your tiedown. Reading the sky is a simple thing but others think you might be crazy till they are wet. It is the journey, not the destination is the mindset I try to give to others. Some tracks visually change even weekly.
Regarding crossing rivers. In New Zealand, if the water is discoloured and you can hear rocks rolling, don't cross or gain height and try and find a different spot. I was involved in an incident years ago where another party tried to cross exactly where the track went in with fatal consequences.

Superb video. I'm doing a Hill and Moorland Leader qualification and this is virtually the entire syllabus in one video.
Glad it was helpful!
Thanks for a great video as usual 😊
I was listening to this while walking my dog to stay in shape for all the hikes we're planning for the summer 😊
Thanks! That’s awesome ☺️

Absolutely!
Love your videos! Yes, hiking is a lifestyle...just ask my dogs!
My favorite channel about outdoor. From Russia with love :)))

Nice Mowser. Not sure how you can afford that American voice over guy? Great tips.
🤠
Haha! It costs but worth it!
I have nowhere to be and all the time in the world to get there.
I like that
Is it a physical book?
Link in description is for the ebook. A physical book has just gone live on Amazon today: amzn.to/4hNuLna
Nope. Not gonna buy a digital copy. I want a real book, maybe with (a lot) more description and pictures. Too bad you're not on Amazon.
Yeah, I understand. Maybe a book is a better option if you want a physical copy. Amazon paperback coming very shortly
the constant corrections do not add to the video...
Apologies
I actually think it adds a bit of charm and a personal touch 😊
I really appreciate the corrections and self-deprecation - always brings a smile! Keep them coming.
They make me happy 😊
