YESSS!!! I am terrible at saying filler words. I always feel so much more comfortable when they just keep it as a group. "The group did great we had 4 umm..." We have geared more towards saying " John made a great sentence when he said..."

I agree! I don't like being too harsh by saying "Wade had 20 umms," I find the approach you suggested to be more encouraging!
