I'm a white man from California and my wife introduced me to bachata and it has become my favorite music of all time and listen to it everyday! I get some funny looks sometimes but i don't care. I've been very dedicated to learning Spanish for 8 months now and can finally understand most of the songs and I practice dancing everywhere! At work, cleaning, with my wife. Anywhere! I was there for 3 months as a survivor show contestant on a reserved island and as soon as I left the island, heard the bachata merengue and fell in love immediately. Since then dancing singing bachata and merengue. 😃

I am Turkish living in NYC and a few years ago I fell in love with Spanish in the streets of NYC and living amongst Dominicans and Puerto Ricans. That’s when I started LOVING bachata, merengue, reggaeton. I have been learning Spanish for 3 years now. There’s so much to learn and I only understand 10% of what’s being said in these songs but it makes me so happy and picks my mood right up. I hope to speak fluent Spanish one day 🎉
