    Saw your video Yesterday and I got one and a Rastar Defender, great rc cars, gonna get the La Ferrari aperta next, can you do a review of those? I think I like the land rover more than the lambo, it drives magnificently!

    • @BlackSeaRC
      @BlackSeaRC  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      In my collection I have a Ferrari FXX-K Evo which is a track version of the LaFerrari road car. When choosing a car to review I usually try to get the new releases because it allows people to see what will be in the shops next. There is an RC version of the re-imagined Lamborghini Countach that I hope to get soon. The Land Rover is great because it is a classic design. It also has the opening doors which makes it a nice display model as well. I hope that Rastar will produce a model of the latest shape Defender some time in the future. The Mercedes-AMG G63 is also a very popular choice.

      Thank you for visiting BlackSeaRC and it is very nice to get some good feedback. For me, Rastar's products sometimes seem to be a little bit random. Some have 2.4GHz handsets, others still use 27MHz electronics, some have opening doors, others do not. Strangely, the prices don't always seem to reflect this as the Ferrari I reviewed was quite a bit cheaper than the Lamborghini. Maybe it is down to production volumes of certain models. When I select a new RC car I always try to choose something just a little bit different or more unusual. I have another interesting new Rastar product coming soon that I haven't seen reviewed anywhere else yet...

    Is possible using rechargable 1.2v batteries with this model?

    • @BlackSeaRC
      @BlackSeaRC  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, you can use 1.2V rechargeable AA batteries. I looked at the cost of a charger and the extra cost of rechargeable batteries over the non-rechargeable ones and decided to just use disposable AA batteries. It is also slightly awkward that the car takes 5 batteries so you need to charge more than once as most chargers only take up to 4 at a time. Long term though, if you are going to use the car a lot, it should work out cheaper to use rechargeable batteries, especially if you have several RC cars.

      @BlackSeaRC  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for taking the time to add a comment. Glad you liked the video. This Lamborghini has great detailing on the outside and inside. However, all the body parts are plastic so I assume that Rastar uses injection moulding rather than diecasting (more associated with metal parts). The quality of the manufacturing process is usually very high though. Some of the manufacturing processes are mechanised (e.g. painting) but the model itself is hand-assembled by skilled workers.

      @BlackSeaRC  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello there and thanks for adding your comments! I'm glad you liked the review. As for my favourite...that's a difficult choice as they are all nice. The Lamborghini has the newer 2.4GHz electronics so in that respect it is better than the McLaren which still uses 27MHz electronics (I don't like the handsets with a screw-in extending metal antenna). However, Rastar has started re-releasing lots of older cars with updated handsets and electronics so you may find the McLaren has been updated too. The McLaren has nicer graphics in my opinion. You don't mention the Ferrari I also reviewed. Maybe this isn't on your shortlist but it is my personal favourite of the 3 cars as it has great graphics, extreme looks, lots of superb details, 2.4GHz electronics and opening doors so you can display it better. It is a good idea to use models of this kind on a flat surface as they look so good, you won't want to damage them! Let me know what you decide!

    I have bought the same car and done exactly as you did but the command won't pair with the car.
    Both new battery in and the command lights red but doesnt pair with the car. DO you have any idea why ?

    • @BlackSeaRC
      @BlackSeaRC  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If you haven't already tried, do this:
      1. Make sure the car is switched off and take all the batteries out of the car and handset.
      2. Fit the batteries in the RC handset (make sure the positive and negative are the right way round).
      3. Now fit the batteries in the car.
      4. Switch on the car.
      5. There is no switch on the handset so with a 2.4GHz system the handset should bind with the car (in fact even a 2.4GHz handset of the same type from any Rastar car should bind with it). It should only take a few seconds. The red light will stop flashing.
      6. If this still doesn't work and you are sure the batteries are all okay, then there is one other thing you can try. You will need to take the body off to check whether one of the connectors to the circuit board hasn't come loose. For assistance, you can watch my video where I reverse engineered a Rastar Bugatti Divo. The process and parts will be very similar. If this is a brand new car and you are not confident to do this, then you should return it to the shop for a refund. I hope you can get it sorted!

    • @BlackSeaRC
      @BlackSeaRC  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi there and thanks for checking my RC Lamborghini video. This is a very nice scale realistic model. To answer your questions, firstly, this car does not have waterproof electronics and the battery compartment is close to the ground. Therefore, it should not be used near water. It would probably be okay on a wet road surface but best to use it in the dry on a smooth, flat surface. Secondly, where you can find it usually depends upon what country you are living in. It is best to buy locally as postage costs can be expensive if buying from another country. The sort of places to look are big toy stores or online sites such as Amazon, AliExpress, Ozon, Wildberries, etc.

      @BlackSeaRC  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have seen people modifying their Rastar cars with hobby grade electronics (e.g. to get fully proportional controls or improved performance). The problem with this is that although the bodies look great, the underneath is still the same "toy grade" chassis. If you want a better performing RC car it is almost always more effective to just buy a more expensive product in the first place. As an automotive engineer though, I can appreciate the fun of upgrading things yourself! Many of my hobby grade RC vehicles are modified and upgraded.

      With RC cars like these you more or less have to accept that if anything breaks you are probably going to have to buy a complete new one. You have a chance to buy some electrical parts but not much chance with anything else. Even if you can get parts it may not be cost effective. Also, these cars are not really designed to be taken apart so if it is stripped down and rebuilt, it may not go together again as well as it did in the factory.
      With regard to "hobby grade" cars, yes, I have lots of them in my collection. I have RC vehicles from many brands including Tamiya, Kyosho, Losi, Axial, HengGuan, Partner Racing, ROC Hobby and Cross-RC. A few of them you can already see in action on this channel and the rest will be coming soon! @@arturbaranski9698 I agree that Rastar should seriously consider introducing proportional throttle and steering control. It is already available on some competitor's products at this price point. That would offer a huge improvement in controllability and ease of use. The quality of the bodies is one of the key selling points of these RC cars. There are lots of collectors who appreciate the superb scale realism. There are also quite a few people who like to convert these cars with hobby-grade electronics. It transforms the performance but of course, it is not really a great solution financially.

    • @BlackSeaRC
      @BlackSeaRC  ปีที่แล้ว

      The title describes the brand, the model, the scale and says that it is a RC car. Then it says unboxing and review. At 0:45 we look at the packaging, at 2:08 the unboxing starts, at 3:56 the handset is shown in detail and the features explained and at 4:49 the car is shown in close-up detail. Whilst showing the car, I compare the interesting features of the model with those on the real car and explain their purpose. I tell in the text about the things that are good and the things that are not so good and how they could be improved. Every feature on the outside and inside is comprehensively shown. At 13:23 I install the batteries in the handset and at 14:00 the batteries are installed in the car. At 14:18 the car is powered up and the steering, throttle and lights are demonstrated. At 16:02 the real car on which this model is based is presented along with interesting facts. At 17:32 I show some alternative Rastar supercars by Ferrari and McLaren that viewers may also like. At 18:35 I conclude with a summary of the good points and bad points for anyone interested in buying this RC car. So clearly the title is perfectly accurate and there is a detailed review. The video has over 56k views, 745 likes and numerous positive comments. If you want to see a similar Rastar supercar being test driven outside, please check my Ferrari 599 GTO video. I understand that it has to be shipped from China to UK but really these cars do not cost very much to buy from the manufacturer. I checked some prices on Alibaba where they sell in bulk to toy shops and these Rastar RC models are as low as 10 GBP. I paid just over 30 GBP for this model and that is the most I have paid for a Rastar car. Usually I try to get them for 20-25 GBP. When I buy something I always consider the "toy grade" versus "hobby grade" questions. For example, I recently bought a new 1:12 scale 4WD buggy with hobby grade electronics. It has a brushless motor, LiPo battery and fully proportional controls. It is super robust for off-road use and has pretty amazing performance. All this for close to 90 GBP.
