Hey, Autism mom here. I just wanted to give you a heads up to save you potential grief in the future. I wouldn’t say “suffers from Autism” because a lot of people in the community will take offense and can be pretty rabid. I would just say Autistic child or has Autism. They also would say they don’t suffer from it because it’s not bad and not a disease. I personally don’t get offended unless people are being derogatory, but the Autistic community can be very particular about labels. Love you two and keep up the good work❤❤❤

I get this. I didn't get diagnosed until a few years ago, but 2 of my kids were diagnosed young, but the 2 who weren't pretty obviously also have autism. Anyway, I have been offended by people saying someone suffered from autism, but at the same time, I kinda feel like I've suffered from autism a lot too, so idk. I think it's offensive because that makes it sound like a disease when it's a neurological difference if that makes sense? Even though I do think we suffer trying to fit into a neurotypical based society, I don't like hearing suffers with autism. I have autism and people without compassion and empathy make me suffer, not the disorder itself. Does that make sense?

Tidying is 90% of the job. My former grandmother-in-law had a great cleaning routine “just tidy up and clean the XXXX” (toilet, kitchen sink, countertops, carpet, etc). Only one real “clean” thing but certainly things are put away on cleaning day. However, she hated dusting, so nothing was ever dusted. She simply told guests: “You can write your name in the dust, just don’t date it.” She kept things pretty minimal, so she knew her own limits. She was a great lady!

You might try water and soap first with a rag or sponge to wipe it quickly...if that doesnt work, try acetone on a rag. In beauty school our instructor said that whatever solution caused a stain will also remove the stain. For instance, if you mess up a nail polish if you put more polish on it the polish will soften and remove the messed-up polish. Same with hair dye, if you stain your skin dying your hair all you have to do is mix some of the dye with shampoo and use that mix on your skin and that will remove the hair dye from your skin. I would try mixing a little of the paint with some soap and scrub a small area and see if it comes up. A heads up if the floor is vinyl acetone will damage the floor.

Thank you for the video. Seeing these rooms remind me of when I was raising my kids. When I told them to clean up their rooms, my daughter would tidy up, and my son would look at me like I was crazy. I had to tell my son to bring me any cups or plates that he took in, ( not many) , then I would tell him to bring me his dirty clothes, put the toys on the shelf or in a basket. Everything was an individual thing with that child. Which took twice as long but he did get it done.

Great video, ladies! I must say as a mum who has older children that eat in their room at all hours. A bucket or bin in the room, with no lid works a treat. When I am emptying the rubbish bin in the kitchen, I just walk around and get them to bring out their bin to empty it. It has made a huge difference, and they love that they don't have to take their trash all the way to the bin. A larger bin will fit most items too. All parcels and larger items get opened in the living room so that boxes and wrap/bubble wrap can be taken to the outside bin, rather than being left in their room. We make it like an unboxing so they can share what they got.

Cleaning the paint - try rehydrating it as it’s a water based paint (a wet cloth left on for a bit etc). For ceramic sinks and non water based use descaler - wipe on leave for a bit then rinse off. A magic sponge works really well on things like pen and markers. Asetate also works on paint but do a test patch. I’m a school cleaner.

15:15 i wonder if paint thinner or mineral spirits would get it up? Alcohol, nail polish remover, or Goo Gone is what Chat GPT said haha

Is children's paint water soluble so a scrub and mop up shouuld do it, maybe go over afterwards with a bleach solution if necessary 😊

Fingers crossed all it takes is a good scrub! Just so scared of spreading the paint 🙈 x

I got diagnosed with autism at 45. So few women who have it aren't diagnosed because the focus has always been on how it is displayed in boys. More recent research is showing that the breakdown of boys vs girls should really be pretty close to 50/50, but traditionally only severe cases get diagnosed in girls. Girls have different social expectations and learn to mask very young. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if the both of you are also autistic. Come on, join me, Mack, and Bonnie! There's a reason we all love to clean and help people! 😂 Neurodivergent people are the nicest, most giving people on the planet, but we are so misunderstood. The root of autistic meltdowns is sensory overload. Give your nervous system what it needs before you reach that point. All 4 of my kids are autistic, and there is nothing better for them than exploring outside, letting the roll in the dirt, collect bugs, play in muddy water, jump on a trampoline, etc. As an adult I've had to relearn what sensory input I need to prevent overreacting to little things that shouldn't and normally wouldn't bother me. My partner brushes me before bed every right and I brush myself at work sometimes when I start feeling anxious. It helps so much!
