At the 30:30 mark I say that if the AI ever receives its 4th resource it will immediately trade. This happens whenever it has its 3rd resource, not 4th. Whenever it has a filled ship, it will trade its highest value good and collect the money.
If the solo ship gets jostled by the navy (all crew moved to repair), is there anyway that they can go back to the rigging or cannons? Seems like they just go to the Helm.

And what if it has more of the highest value goods? Does it sell then all of them or only one of them?

if i trigger a BONUS ACTION(say from crew) has a free trade/sell, do i need to be on a map with trade icon??

They can if the AI lands on or moves past deckhands on the wheel in future turns.
