    Thank you! I heard this for the first time traveling through Saranda. It happened without me knowing what it was and it was so beautiful. It's so nice there is such a sacred piece of the past still left intact to this day and practiced by young people. x

    Damn. These Albanians are really good at finding great courtyards to drink beer and sing in.

      he's an outstanding throat singer, and what came out that day illustrated the natural connection generated among a group of people coming from different singing traditions :-)

      @@Knorxl amazing! I've always enjoyed albanian polyphony (I'm albanian after all) but never thought that mongolian throat singing would pair so we'll! Brilliant! Thank you

      @@vangjeljorgali5892 I don't think this is Mongolian throat singing though or is it? Though I've never quite heard such deep tones in Albanian iso-polyphony.

    Thank you so much for this video! Do you know the name of this chant?

      I’m afraid I don’t know the name of that song. But it you want to find more, those people have since created an ensemble called Voxtra, you could contact them directly to ask, they have a page on Facebook: facebook.com/Voxtra-799794516757403/
      I hope this helps!

    THIS IS ALBANIAN POLYPHONY ,NOT ISO POLYPHONY .UNESCO HAS TO KNOW THAN ALBANIAN POLYPHONY IS NOT FROM LITURGIES OF ORTODOKSE CHURCH.BUT IS OLDER THAN 3000 YEARS OLDER OR MORE.

    • @Knorxl
      @Knorxl  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      No worries, Unesco doesn't say that Albanian polyphony is linked or influenced by any orthodox church. The reason the term "iso" is used is because it describes what also exists in Byzantine chant, nothing more. Albanian polyphony existed many centuries before the Byzantine tradition came into existence. In any case, words are just... words.

      @@Knorxl what existed in Byzantines churchs chants is their problem .The main thing is that to compare something different with a traditional singing.And something there are a polyphonies from other countries,no one say iso polyphony and compare with the chants on ORTODOKSE churcies.

      @@ArjanAliaj-t2gFrom what I see, Albanian polyphony is the only tradition called "iso", so I don't see a reason to bring Byzantine polyphony in the picture...
