Great insights James, thank you! You have made me look long and hard at my own business. I am now pivoting to commercial property (having done BTL and you previous comments/tips on this sector) would love you to consider a deep dive into more commercial property, especially for someone who has a modest amount 200k. Many thanks 🙌

I’m a content creation manager, working in the gaming industry. Content creation is booming indeed and not just top influencer marketing campaigns. Most of the past year, I spent working with really small local influencers. Costs next to nothing and there’s a lot more engagement. During the past two weeks, I saw hundreds of vacancies on influencer outreach jobs at 30-45k. I started thinking seriously about starting up an agency

If you have the space at your leisure business a antique barn holding 20/25 stall holders or more once built and let to one person who can sublet to unit holders would give you regular all year income from that and into your cafe / restaurant offering would get more revenue for the quieter winter months

I think the key to TH-cam success is creating a niche where you dont eventually paint yourself into a corner..i.e. a channel where you can constantly make fresh content where people tune in...for example, an interview format show like Joe Rogan.

It's SaaS not SAS... you are massively under estimating the complexity of the SaaS and software world. And the finances needed to compete with the big boys. Lots of dynamics you wont even have the faintest idea about. As much as I love you, you need to rethink that one. But best of luck. I suppose I could help educate you for the price of a coffee if our paths ever crossed.

James would be Thunderstruck at the opportunity to learn from you, Brian, over a coffee I’m sure. Just 5 minutes with you he’d have his bank balance Back in Black in no time. How many people do you employ Brian, apart a couple of guitarists and a drummer of-course?

I am sure he is better at entrepreneurial stuff than I am, and there is nothing wrong with coming up with a shortlist of ideas to look at, but those ideas need active review Inc talking with people experienced and with substance in those areas. The responses to my comment are hilarious. My time is of course worth a lot more than a coffee, but it wouldn't be a commercial transaction from my point of view, just friendly ideas swap with someone with passion. Hey ho.

For the importing and wholesaling business, capital is the barrier to entry. Do you know of any creative and/or cheap funding options that would work well for this business model?

Sorry, mate, but you will most likely need at least ine staff member on site at your self storage business for the inevitable little issues that pop up and require a timely response.
Ditto for the self service hotels. A lot of guests like the idea of an on site human they can talk to and somebody who can bring them a fresh towel, soap, etc..help a delivery person find your room...

What are your thoughts on "zero staff" business'? Do you feel there is a moral element to providing people with jobs and employment? Is the future eventually to become fully automated with 50%+ unemployment?

I love employing people; I think the challenge is the opposite… getting people to work in western economies is becoming more of a challenge. Especially full time. We have a situation in the UK where we have a lot of vacancies.

I am getting quite dishearted, I see so many UK businesses that are just there to pay employees wages and not make any more.
I look at the accoutns of many of the businesses I use and encounter, you see businesses that seemingly look successful outwardly and then you look at their company accounts and you see they are -£7M on their balance sheet. Just living off debts. Big companies with just £20,000 cash at bank and in hand at year end.

It doesn’t take into account what a company would be worth at exit. If they have moved cash out of one company into another. ( maybe into holding co )

@@JamesSinclairEntrepreneur didn't think about that, perhaps BS is completely pointless, which makes sense why companies house is considering included p&l into the published annual accounts.

The van rental business.... you are talking about asset finance. He would need to have 20% deposit for those 40 vans. Say they cost 25k that's 5k X 40 which is 200k. Scale it up to your 200van that's 200 X 5k so 1million spent on deposits and another 4million debt.
As you say the banks would give the loan but only if there the value of the asset is greater than the loan (so as you say if business collapses they can sell off all the vans).
Each van only comes in for 20 mins a month. Downplaying it much?

I get profitable business with low employees but I don’t like it. Fantastic of course for the entrepreneur but what percentage of the work place are they? Yep the argument is going to be that the profits can be invested in other high employee businesses but that only applies if you have many diverse businesses in your portfolio. Sorry James but this is a bit 80’s thinking for me and I prefer James Timpsons perspective and actions on employment and people and his general altruism which will be a legacy for our future generations to look back and admire and hopefully not pine for. Apology’s as I am basing my comments on this one video and you have made many which have inspired me….
