I've had people try to tell me that it was an insulting term for people who believed themselves "special." In any case, it is an insult thrown by people who lack empathy, think we should be like the Borg (none of us is important or special in any way, we're all just drones in the game of life), or are just bitter. Sadly, it's used by both the left and the right, though the right does seem to enjoy throwing it around more.

What do you consider a war hero? One who destroys everything he touches or one who leads Soldiers into battle? I'm a veteran and can say that none of the people I worked with espoused Christian values, i.e., LDRSHIP, the service swore to uphold.
@@trcy1977 I consider my Father War Hero. Two tours in Vietnam 1967. Survived Tet offensive, Agent Orange, and thankfully came home wounded with permanent physical damage yet alive in one piece. And with minimal mental trauma considering what he saw and experienced at 18 years of age in jungle combat. However, he managed to come back to the states and raise a complete family with my Mother and two siblings. He was always there, protected, and provided us everything we needed. You see it takes way more than being a Veteran to become a War Hero my friend... that's just the beginning of your journey.
