This is brilliant. I felt a bit emotional watching this as Brookside is my childhood!
Brookside was the best soap and sadly missed so this is brilliant seeing some great faces
Seeing annie and Tracey really bought back some great memories
I always remember I had the same jumper as Tracey had in one of the episodes

Sammy just looks the same I liked her in brookside
Sammy leaving Louise at home alone is the first storyline I watched (I was 8) and it got me hooked on the show. But that storyline was excellent, nothing sensational and very relatable. Sammy was such a great character and the interactions between the 1996 cast were so special.
It was a great storyline. Bel and Ollie Simpson took Louise in and were upset when social services took her into care. Rachael Lindsay was superb as Sammy.

Congratulations to everyone involved in getting this reunion together, I used to see Steven Pinder (Max) & Vince Earl (Ron) all the time where I used to work while they were shopping 🙂, it has been so great to watch this tonight - let's hope there is a second one!

It went down the hill when the boy having nightmares went on far too long. I do miss it had great storylines

Thanks Lewis for organising this video. I wish I was older to have been able to follow and enjoy Brookside properly but it was a bit before my time. I remember watching the last year though and was really engaged with it. Hope to visit the Close one day!

Fantastic just a shame the video quality is not great for many and sound drop outs spoil it just a bit - getting like dial up sometimes but maybe the live feed was better ?

This is marvellous ,2 hours of utter brilliance. BEST PROGRAMME EVER for me ! I particularly liked the Omnibus edition ,early August 1989,when I'd "thrashed" a Transit Luton van from Kingussie,Scotland to Golcar,Huddersfield 350 miles,so I could get back for BROOKSIDE (I didn't have the sense to ring my sister and ask her to tape it for me). Tronas T?ts was defo one of the best for me and when Ron Dixon had a rival "to deal with" called Dick Ronson. Ooooh...Happy Days!

Only seeing this pop now I wonder if they're thinking about bringing it back...or, hollyoaks is in the same universe.

John McArdle is excellent. I loved the character Billy Corkhill. Justine Kerrigan also excellent. I think Brookside got worse after these characters left the show, hence why it was scrapped. The 1980S were the best years

If they brought Brookside back today the show would be limited it just would not be the same with all this woke nonsense we have today which is currently destroying all the soaps viewers figures from what they used to be 20 years ago

He ended up in prison. He got into drugs and was the driver of a car involved with the killing of a doorman.

David Gower was in Brookside?
No but I saw him in a shop in Knighton in Leicester in 1989 talking to the owner who he knew while I was buying a cheese roll and The Guardian. Brookside was not mentioned.

Brookside was awsome in its hay day - it started to go down hill when the characters/actors stasrted to be rather unlikable like that horrible Ron Dixon and Clair Sweeney - the nail in the coffin for me was when the show turned into the Jimmy Corkhill show with his rediculous story lines and the actors dreadful over acting - it became way too over powering and unpleasant -
Punctuation- actor's. He was a great actor and the character was interesting.
Yes, it started to go downhill when long standing characters left such as Sinbad, Mick Johnson and also killing off Susannah .
