MAPPA definitely went WAY harder than what was necessary on this first episode and the opening and ending were no exception. The emotions portrayed in the OP and ED are incredible
As someone who came hard against mappa last half of this season bc of the cgi, I'll say so far it's a major improvement, idk what they did but the cgi doesn't look as jarring, it still doesn't have the same "feel" as the first 3 seasons but for what they are going for it's much better.
As a manga reader it was terrible waiting 1 month each chapter during this entire final 12 episodes yall will see.....be lucky yall only have to wait once a weeks 😭 this show is worth everything I'm glad I can finally see it in motion (:

I'm not normally into heavy metal as a genre but damn this op is so good and the visuals are amazing too. I literally screamed when those shots of Hange and Levi showed up and nearby teared up at Armin, Mikasa and Eren running together. Mappa and SiM have done such an amazing job
Exactly my opinion. There are a lot of people who say they would have liked an opening like red swan. But I think exactly this heavy metal is perfect for the time of war and this tension. We have a very sentimental ending, which I think shows this "red swan mood" very well. Personally, I think the opening and ending are perfect for the last season.

@@marcok.1214 this is super SUPER blatant and a lot of spoilers to season 4 first half: They took the Warhammer from Marley, got sasha dead, and abducted zeke. blah blah blah dinner and zeke's back sweat was put in the world's greatest wine which a crap ton of eldians drank (including falco who got smashed in the head by a bottle and had a sip enter his mouth) Zeke who was with levi in the forest screams and transforms all who drank the wine around him (which was only levi's squad) into titans. Levi immobilizes zeke but zeke enables a thunder spear and immobilizes levi and himself but he survives and levi ??? (not revealed in that season) Eren kidnaps after breaking up with armin, mikasa, gabi, and several other friends of his including Chef sasha simp, Falcon, and others with Floch and his crew's help. Eren gets pieck and tries to get her to point to where the enemy is. Pieck points at Eren's hella clean sneakers and reveals Galliard right under him, galliard bounces out and gets eren to transform, blimps from marley come featuring some soldiers, reiner, and others. Eren gets ready to fight everyone and is waiting for Zeke's arrival.
When I watched the episode and heard "RUMBLING RUMBLING IT'S COMING RUMBLING" I just had to pause it and stand up cuz the hype was too real. This opening catches all the emotions quite perfectly. The emptiness, the agony, the cruelty, the disappointment, the destruction, the fear, the heart breaking elements, sadness all fit into the opening. The decreasing of innocence and liveliness from opening 1 of aot to this one is noticable. Aot is never meant to be a happy journey because it portrays humans and their faults.

And to create that, you neither need children, or an healthy people, or faith in god, or a dictatorship. And robots have no moral issues, no health issues, etc. The only thing preventing us from automating war today is our shared ethical distaste for it, but if the island would not care of accidentally killing enemy civilians or giving the choice over live and death to a programmer before hand (or even a self learning algorithm), then your plan would fail. Of course, unless they are technologically so deficient that they can not do this, but in this case, your technological superiority should negate all of your points, because than you can send in the robot army

MAPPA definitely went WAY harder than what was necessary on this first episode and the opening and ending were no exception. The emotions portrayed in the OP and ED are incredible
As someone who came hard against mappa last half of this season bc of the cgi, I'll say so far it's a major improvement, idk what they did but the cgi doesn't look as jarring, it still doesn't have the same "feel" as the first 3 seasons but for what they are going for it's much better.

I'm not normally into heavy metal as a genre but damn this op is so good and the visuals are amazing too. I literally screamed when those shots of Hange and Levi showed up and nearby teared up at Armin, Mikasa and Eren running together. Mappa and SiM have done such an amazing job
Exactly my opinion. There are a lot of people who say they would have liked an opening like red swan. But I think exactly this heavy metal is perfect for the time of war and this tension. We have a very sentimental ending, which I think shows this "red swan mood" very well. Personally, I think the opening and ending are perfect for the last season.

@@marcok.1214 this is super SUPER blatant and a lot of spoilers to season 4 first half: They took the Warhammer from Marley, got sasha dead, and abducted zeke. blah blah blah dinner and zeke's back sweat was put in the world's greatest wine which a crap ton of eldians drank (including falco who got smashed in the head by a bottle and had a sip enter his mouth) Zeke who was with levi in the forest screams and transforms all who drank the wine around him (which was only levi's squad) into titans. Levi immobilizes zeke but zeke enables a thunder spear and immobilizes levi and himself but he survives and levi ??? (not revealed in that season) Eren kidnaps after breaking up with armin, mikasa, gabi, and several other friends of his including Chef sasha simp, Falcon, and others with Floch and his crew's help. Eren gets pieck and tries to get her to point to where the enemy is. Pieck points at Eren's hella clean sneakers and reveals Galliard right under him, galliard bounces out and gets eren to transform, blimps from marley come featuring some soldiers, reiner, and others. Eren gets ready to fight everyone and is waiting for Zeke's arrival.

This opening catches all the emotions quite perfectly. The emptiness, the agony, the cruelty, the disappointment, the destruction, the fear, the heart breaking elements, sadness all fit into the opening. The decreasing of innocence and liveliness from opening 1 of aot to this one is noticable. Aot is never meant to be a happy journey because it portrays humans and their faults.
And that's in itself is a reminder that Attack on Titain is also categorized as a Horror anime.

Attack on titan is truly one of the best shows I've ever watched. This intro is also incredible, and very fitting for the finale.
It started out as a boy wanting see whats out there beyond the wall, into avenging humanity and ends in committing genocide to everything beyond said walls. When I first watched season 1, my friends called me out for being a nerd. 8 years later those same guys are hyping this season on social media. Truly a masterpiece.

And to create that, you neither need children, or an healthy people, or faith in god, or a dictatorship.
