@@lawannamorgan8771 If they have 4 wheels it would reduce the weight & power needed to move it. And nobody told them that you can lead chickens with feed anywhere you want to take them, just like pigs
Mike there are several ways to use the harden okra; 1. dehydrate them and make okra powder which can be used in soups, gravies and stews as a natural thickener. 2. Make okra chips as a snack for the family 3. Extra feed for the chickens and goats 4. Let them totally dry and save the seeds 5. Make a natural hair conditioner 6. Compost Just a few suggestions I've seen other you tubers use their harden okras for. I hope this helps. Great harvest btw!!
I watch Alaska the last frontier, when they want to get their chickens into the coop Evan puts a black plastic bag on the end of a pole and waves it around. The chickens think it’s a hawk and run for the coop. I was amazed! Worked like a charm!
or you can put feed inside, show and lead them in and they'll get in. Its about thinking smart . this whole business of catching chickens is silly waste of time.
Hi Mike & Lacey, I love your show and the kids! Most kids on video’s I’m not crazy about - some of them act like the camera is all about them / I want to turn it off when they start to take over. .. bummer! Mike, When you travel & interview the couples you’ve gone to visit, you ask such great questions that we would like to know about if we were there. :-). You would make a terrific TV commentator 😅. Your farm has really taken shape, keep up the good work ! Lacey is doing great with her apothecary knowledge you are doing terrific things to share 😊. Dorothy in Georgia .
Lucky daddy having such helpful kiddies helping you in the garden. Sailer is a sweet young lady and seems very capable preparing some of those fresh veggies for a meal. Love your smile Sailer.xx
God given birthright freedoms: To speak my mind, to freely associate. I love homesteaders, and would freely associate and assemble with anyone working so hard at such a rewarding job!
Your home looks beautiful. All the work you did was well worth it. You guys work so well together and it seems to me that you can accomplish anything you set your minds to. Hope you get the additional land you are trying to buy. Stay safe and have a great rest of the week.
Tough okra: cut into stars, dry in the sun, spray paint silver and add a hook for your Christmas tree. I wonder if you can make cold process soap and pour it into molds that have dried okra slices in them like luffa?
Thank you for sharing your life. I am so thankful for the freedom of worship, and the freedom to choose a life like you have with your family. We are so blessed. God bless you all.
I will second that on my religion and worshiping my Holy Father. My 2nd most important thing I am most grateful for is my Freedom of Speech. I could go on forever.
I enjoyed your vlog very much! Little Micah really did a great job staying focused on being the gatekeeper which was quite important work. Miss Sehlah caught 2 chickens at once - impressive! The whole family effort to move the coop was such a beautiful Cooperative effort. I just appreciate how much I learned in this episode alone and how wonderfully your family works together. Give yourself some Grace about the okra and the weeds LOL. Bless you!
Wow, things have changed since I was able to watch you last! It all looks wonderful, you have come a long way since last year. May God continue to bless you and your wonderful family.
Will keep your neighbor in my prayers. I have seen that you have dogs, but never have heard you talk about them and their purpose on your homestead. Your children are growing so much.
Are you pulling? Gosh, I laughed so hard! :). You have a wonderful family, I love watching all of you helping each other. Thank you for sharing with us!
Selah is so cute. It's great to see that team family work . Micah was being a great door keeper. Josiah and Selah was great getting those chickens in 🎈🎈🎈
I love goat milk too. My mama gave me it when I was a baby. My stress reliever is my garden. Dirt is my Prozac! The garden this year is terrific. Last year the weather was not good for the garden but this year it’s great, and my yorkiepoo Bambam 8 pounds, and my German Shorthair hound 50 pounds have rid my city yard of 10 wild rabbits and many mice. Those bunnies ate everything. I love dogs they are truly mans helpers.
Okra - Make okra water w/lemon (or lemon balm) for a healthy lemonade. Mature okra - dry and harvest seeds to roast for a caffeine free coffee. Also, dried pods make cute Santas and angels for Christmas decorations!
Love the great ideas hope the chap thathad the road accident is OK. I watch All ducks go to bed as well as Lumnar Acres. They are very gooď as well. You are awsome Thankyou.
Love that you are intermittent fasting! I do the same. First meal around 11:30 am, I am a teacher and that is lunch time, and nothing after 7:30pm. Love your homestead, family, and videos! I am living vicariously through you all! Keep up the great work!
Mike for the chicken tractor there is two things to try 1) Placing two swivel wheels on the front legs or under the base of the tractor it will make it easier to move the tractor 2) place a trailor bracket to the tractor and you can use the lawnmower to haul it around.
LOL, like you could hear me, the whole time moving the chicken tractor, I was almost yelling, the tires are flatttt!!!! LOL.. wow, great harvest!!! if ONLY the veg would grow as quickly as the weeds! we would never EVER be hungry again!!! =)
avonleanne , My Chinese girlfriend has been teaching me that we can eat some of those weeds ! She goes out to the backyard and comes back inside with a basketfull of ............food . Of course I also do not use any pesticides or herbicides on my lawn. Young dandelion leaves are quite nice in a mixed salad.
I slice onions, squash, cucumbers, and zucchini, and shredded carrots together for a pickled mixed veggie that makes an awesome side dish. You have to try it!
That is a very big Chicken Tractor - love how your entire family joins in to help- they are all terrific, you are a lucky man 😅. Yours is a wonderful family video :-) keep doing what you do. !!!
I see others just feeding the large okra go pigs or goats. You could just save those for seed. Your little girl is such a good helper. I'm grateful for freedom to pursue my interests and garden, etc.
Hey Mike, I love watching your family grow.🥰 Your children are doing a great job helping out on the farm.🙂 Can you make a before and after video of your Yurt remodeling? 😁 No a problem Right!? Lol🤪😜😘
Mike, talking about the chicken shaws Justin Rhodes makes, Al from Lumnah Acres recently built one, with some modifications as well, it may be of interest to you to watch what he did in case you like the modifications for your own! Take care!!
“Yeah are you pulling!?!” Made me laugh 😂😂
She has a good sense of humor.
Mom and one child pulling, along with Dad, the other two? Not so much. Sooo heavy.
You need bigger wheels Mike! 😂😂

So proud of you all
Yes, I love what Rhodes is doing also with the compost pile and the new tractor he built. You are going to love both.
That was funny! Are you pushing; yes, are you pulling?
Nothing better than sitting down to a meal that was raised mostly on your property by your own hands!
Are you pulling? Gosh, I laughed so hard! :). You have a wonderful family, I love watching all of you helping each other. Thank you for sharing with us!

I use a large net on a handle that fishermen use on a boat for landing a fish 🐠 so much easier xx
One thing i love about this channel is the way your children so eagerly help with he chores. They are so bright and well mannered.
It doesn't always happen that way but they are a great help and we appreciate the hard work they put in.
