    Hi. Interesting watch - I have the same bike, same year, and have picked up the same issues - buffeting air at chin height with an aftermarket screen, and the slightly nut-crushing seat angle. Otherwise a fun bike. I just put a pair of new tyres on mine which has improved the handling no end.
    We also appear to have a similar past bike history - my first bike (which I still have) is a SR250 which I thing is pretty similar to the Yamaha you mentioned?
    Look forward to seeing more.

      Rob Stevens Thank you for watching and commenting. I like this bike a lot. I’m going to upgrade the suspension soon. I’ll do a commentary then. Where are you from?

    I had a 93 twenty years ago, I really regret selling it, it suited me down to the ground more than enough power for me, little funny sitting position but I got used to it and could ride long distances with it. I feel like getting another one as they are cheap as chips now. Went for Newcastle to Seaforth on the Northern Beaches and didn't get wet in the pouring rain, this is very practical.

      Coincidentally I just picked my bike up from the shop. Had a new rectifier/regulator put in. I have no idea about mechanics until I have a problem, then I know what's going on. This has been an issue for a few months. So happy to have it back to full power. New video being uploaded soon. I'm going to make a better review video soon as this was not really very good. I was very new to making videos when I made this one. Thanks for watching and I hope you have a great time on the ZZR. I love my bike. Certainly does go faster than I can handle in the high rev range.

      Ozzie Nails Could be a number of things. First check the battery and battery terminals. Could be a fault in the kill switch, ignition. Could be the stator. Could be the regulator. Where in Aus are you? I’m in Sydney.

    have the same model E7, I use the front brake from high speed down to low speed in conjunction with the rear brake but not press as hard until I come to the lights and ease up on the front and press harder on the back so there is no nose dive while coming to a stop, seems a lot better doing it this way, also sometimes jumps out of gear just when you think it is in gear letting out the clutch then clunk it drops down again.
    Had a fall doing less than 5 miles an hour or 7kph it jumped out of gear as I was turning from a stop sign at full lock and it was not going fast at all and I fell over like a falling tree, because I was on full lock it just went over, man was I pissed as I had only repainted the fairing and took out all the old gouges and scratched from all the road debris, and now it was back due to the fall.
    The fuel gauge has stopped working and the rubber for the time clocks has disintegrated, I put a large touring windshield and an air difusser on it so I get no buffering at all, even with a motocross peaked helmet on, still love it won't part with it.

      deek ando I love my ZZR. I want to take it to the drag strip. Should get close to 200kph at around 12.5 seconds. If I get under 13 I’ll be stoked. My bike was dropped on each side before I bought it. I’m not worried. Bike is 20 years old and going strong. Love it. Thanks for watching and commenting.

    I also own one of these, 1995 E3 and she flies. Bigger jets and a bit more farting she's lovely! Amazing bikes and still surprises new stuff, especially stuff it's own size. I know how lucky you are, what a machine!
    Comfy, fast and smooth; with that 90's Kwak lunacy dumped into the heart of the bike.
    Edit: Hell yeah i'd track it. If I had the money to replace it, I also got this bike after a 2 year break.

    I'm thinking to buy a zzr600 for the winter. What do you think, can you get enough protection from the fairing? I'm 1.90m.
    Regards from Holland!

    • @hachewie
      @hachewie  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Piet vdPloeg I don’t have much to compare it too as my previous bikes were all naked. It does a reasonable job indeed compared to a naked bike. An old UK show said it has great weather protection. Let me know if you get one. I love it. I’m 193cm. I’m also Dutch (both parents were born there). It is a little bit cramped in the legs. I like to have a stretch after about an hour of riding. Sometimes I make it up to two hours though.

    Hi, Must be catching - I have the the same bike, same year!! Difference I think would be would be age - I am 68 next birthday and have ridden a plethora of bikes over the past (omg) years, from Francis Barnett to a Super Blackbird, and including two Harleys. I am 5' 11" and never really had a problem with crown j's (that might be an age thing!) or wind (apart from my wife's curry). Love the bike, ideal for me, comfy, forgiving and still a lot of fun to ride, although the lean angle round corners seems to have lessened in direct proportion to age! Safe riding.

    • @hachewie
      @hachewie  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      jaspergrumfuttock Thanks for sharing. At 6’3” I get a bit of wind but I’m not complaining. I love my bike. It’s a fun bike. Easy to ride and very cheap. I’m considering a bigger newer bike. This one is up for a suspension upgrade and a major service. Might be better off getting a bandit or something like that. Ride on mate. Where are you from?

    • @jaspergrumfuttock
      @jaspergrumfuttock 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@hachewie Hi. Bandit? Excellent machine, especially the 1200. Loads of power, more then enough torque with 2 up and very customable. (is that a word???) But you know what I mean. The street (unfaired) version will help to keep your speed below 100mph (obviously only when you're on the autobahn) due to the wind trying to rip your head off. But what a good choice. If your looking at street check out the xjr 1300 - had one for 3 years and loved it, even the wife didn't moan on pillion. In answer to your other question, born, lived, worked and ripped off by the UK government for 60 years before retiring to Brittany, France. Good roads, no potholes, very little traffic and mainly biker friendly due to their passion for cycle racing. All the best. Cordialement!!

    • @hachewie
      @hachewie  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      jaspergrumfuttock XJR looks amazing. Bandit is a lot cheaper here in Aus. Plenty of 1200 or 1250 bandits under 5K Aus. Happy riding mate. Thanks for the info..... and the word you are looking for is, ‘customisable’.

    Got a 03 model.. Love it.. Gets thirsty if kept above 180 klms/h. (Still hate the NT election results). Easy to ride (clunky gear shift between first and second)

    • @hachewie
      @hachewie  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm yet to get mine up to 180km/h. It is a pretty thirsty bike. (99 model). I get roughly 200km out of a tank (usually about 12 litres). I'm taking it to the drags for the first time this Thursday. I'll be sure to post a video about the experience. I've never done it before and hope to get around 12 seconds. Thanks for watching.

      Did a ride last week-end (catch-up with a few Katherine riders who I met at the Chrissy Toy run and got invited to a met up at Daly Waters) Average speed was 160 with a few spurts to 200+. Used 12 litres for 200 klm's going down (Fuel in Daly waters sucks) and 15 coming home.. Could only get 95 there and recon it was 91. (use 98 religiously) Smallest bike on the ride but rattled a few bigger bikes by setting a "Battle" cruising speed.

      @@vinnyozorio1782 I'm quietly jealous mate. Awesome. I have found 95 here is Sydney is great. 98 and the bike runs a little hotter. The thermo fan comes on much more often when in traffic (and we have lots of trafic). Ride safe mate.

    No it doesn't start to act out until you get it above 6000 and once you're into 8000 RPMs it really comes to life. I also recommend putting in braided brake lines And re jetting the carbs. I took the Jets out of a ZX7. AND THEN WE WENT ON THE DYNO JET.THE BIKE REALLY CAME TO LIFE THAT IN CHANGING AT THE SPROCKETS. DOWN ONE AND UP TWO. I have a 93 ZX6e which is the same as the ZZR
