AMAZING LIST! Syphon Filter is amazing game that have it's own great mechanics, and superb climat. I play is to this day, and it's probably my favourite non-fps action game. I love it, I also love ps2's syphon filter omega strain. Delta Force Urban Warfare was also a good game that made huge impression on me. Great list, will check some of these games for sure. Sub because really well made video, not some lazy top 10 without any commentary
I've played pandemonium and also enjoyed it! there were some weird cheat codes where you would rearrange the player's limbs out of place...it was so weird, but so fun! There was also another game which was basically Pandemonium with other characters, it was called Magical Hoppers...I never really researched what were the differences. Nice video, bro!
Thanks for the list. I have some of these games and have never given much thought into playing them until your insight. You have really dug deep into the system's game list!
I'm trying to think of a game, you played as like a bean shaped thing, you had 4 teams of different colours, it was like a capture the castle type game, very colourful
I own both and the first one is by far better and one of my favorite rpgs ever. I love the combat and the evolution of the characters and the ra seru. This franchise needs a 3rd installment for sure.
@@xxbad_acidxx0079 I never ended up playing the second, I bought it back in the day and a neighbour kid broke the disc before I could even play it. I always liked the fighting system of the first one though
Playing Metal Gear Solid the first time, all of Final Fantasy 7 , Parasite Eve, resident evil series , silent hill, crash bandicoots, twisted metal 2, jet moto 2, many sports games and the great RPG library made the ps1 so good! Courier Crisis, Croc 1&2, star ocean 🌊 2nd story were really underrated games I played a ton growing up!
I played Pandemonium back in the day and I was able to finish it, even though it was really hard towards the end.I played Tomba 2 and it's really similar to the first game.Lastly, I completely agree with your number 1 and I think that Syphon Filter was a great PS1 trilogy and the amount of details they put on were proof of how good a game is.
Good call on Digimon World. Super creative game conceptually that makes up for its M A N Y flaws. I love the hub based system based around player-initiated 'sorties' to improve the central hub to make it easier to start over with a new digimon. I've always wanted to see it attempted again in some other game or series, yet it never is, unfortunately. If only in this game there wasn't so many BS elements and it wasn't so time consuming to do everything, like raising a digimon from a baby, which DESTROYS momentum and pacing. *EDIT* Also, in the digimon chart in the menu, it would've been way better if it stated which stats were highest to trigger the digivolution that you got so you could avoid getting the same digimon twice to fill the chart faster. Also, you aren't missing much from missing Digimon World 2 and 3. They made them into very generic JRPGs and ditched all the elements that made the first one so unique.
Actually they did make more games like World 1, there's: -Digimon World Re:Digitize for the PSP and it's second version Digimon World Re:Digitize Decode for the 3DS (they are both Japan exclusive sadly, but there is a fan translation patch for the first, and the second one is almost done I believe) -and Digimon World Next Order for the PS Vita, here in the west we've got the International Edition for the PS4.
I beat HOD in 2 days. Even though it was short (and nail bitingly difficult in some sections!) HOD was a unique platforming experience not found anywhere else (at the time anyway lol).
My most cherished ps1 memory is crash bandicoot warped....my siblings and i would spend hours playing that game....we ran that cd down to it not being able to be played Any more....ahhhhhhh good times man....good time
Personally, i actually hated the first installment, due to it's clunky steering. 2 and warped, though, those were my favorite games together with tomba 1 and 2.
Treasure Planet, A Bug's Life, and both The Toy Story games were incredibly good, it's a shame A Bug's Life had ironically a bug that made it impossible to 100% complete. Edit; Pandemonium is available on steam at least unlike Tomba, as Whoopee Camp went bust, and nobody bought the rights to tomba, so the games are just lost to time, unless if you emulate, or play them on original hardware.

@@Phantom_Zer0, sure bro. Both Digimon World 2 & 3 are really good and both have their pros and cons but my personal favourite is Digimon World 2. I haven't played Digimon World 1 but I think I wouldn't like it either way. But that aside, speaking of Digimon Card Battle since you liked it I think that then Digimon World 3 is your choice, bro. Card Battle is a somewhat big part of Digimon World 3, you (can) have card battles like every 5-10 minutes of gameplay not only Digimon battles. The digivolution system is completely different in the mentioned two Digimon games but I think you'll get the hang of it. You should definitely give Pandemonium 2 a go, I've got both and love them. Completely agree about Digimon World and Star Wars Episode One: The Phantom Menace too, I thought I was the only person who actually likes those games. Going to try and track down copies of Heart of Darkness, 40 Winks and Atlantis after watching this video, they look like great games.
I must have sank hundreds of hours into that game when I was young, no internet to use back then for when I got stuck, everytime I discovered something new I got a huge sense of achievement
I had Chicken Run on Gameboy Color as a kid! I didn't know it was on PS1 but it plays just like the GBC. It's a stealth game where you collect items that help you escape. Awesome video, i haven't heard of Pandemonium but I'm definitely going to check it out now.
Omega Strain fucked the series, since they had to do games for the psp and port do PS2 ... Omega Strain would be a online game only, however sony saw this, and ask Edetic to create a Offline campaign, but was already too late, the game was not good .... The Original Trilogy is good to this day, SF1 is my favourite game ever
Pandemonium didn't have such a big fanbase among PS1 owners, because it primarily came out for Sega Saturn (where I actually played it for the first time). Together with "Panzer Dragoon zwei" and "Daytona USA", Saturn was a sensation back in the day, but unfortunately ended up losing to PS1's emerging popularity and (for the time) immersive graphics and wider variety of games produced for the console.
pretty crazy but i played all of those games as a kid lol I gonna do a play through on Tomba 1 and 2 now cause of you XD I'll also give you a shout out cause Vex you just gave me a blast from the past. also wish you had house of dead on the list
Kia ora my bro really enjoyed the video. First one I have watched of yours. You could maybe do more PlayStation 1 or 2 games or even other consoles from that era. Would be really cool to see games that I haven’t seen before that you have. Again excellent video nonetheless keep it up.
I have an n64 video as well on my channel, I plan on doing more, Just been extremely busy irl and had an issue with a computer part which slowed me down a lot. Welcome to the channel though and thank you!
Wow. these are some really creative and interesting games I've never heard of! Very good top 10! Yeah i played crash and spyro, and they're amazing, but i think Stuart Little 2 was a very fun game which you don't see mentioned very often
Best PS1 memory: Playing Resident Evil 2 and Metal Gear Solid when they were both new as a 12 year old. Owning both games at the same time was special back then
@@VexGamingTV It's a David Perry game, so you could well have done. But love all the quirky PS1 games like that, wish they were prepared to push the boat out like that nowadays :(
Digimon World looks awesome! Gonna try it out. I've never been a Digimon fan, but when I was 12 I loved the anime, so I certainly have nothing against Digimon, and again: Digimon World looks like it'd be right up my alley as far as PS1 games go.
The anime series came out after the Playstation game that's based off the digital pets. Digimon is the refined version of Tamagotchi. The digital pets (digivices) were/are my favorite part of Digimon, and they're making a comeback. What was cool about the digivices is each one had a theme for every kind of personality. Mine is the Digimon Nightmare Soldiers with Demon, Devimon, Wizardmon, and many others. I recommend getting a personal Digimon (digivice/pet) like the Digimon Pendulum. Video game-wise, I recommend Digimon World for the Playstation and Digimon Cyber Sleuth-both excellent games. Cyber Sleuth is more of a mature rated game for the kids who grew up with the original Digimon. Digimon is criminally underrated
Pandemonium 2 was one of my first games on PSX, and I've finally got to play Pandemonium 1 last year and loved it too. Pandemonium 2 is definitely better game tho
Man my favourite memory was playing final fantasy 8 and I gotta say I must be one of the few that actually thinks 8 is better then 7. I know i said it. Hahaha. However 8 was something else for me it taught me a lot about respect, being there for one another when people needed you most and being a great person. I know it sounds cheesy but yea it works for me. 😂
I thought the style was so cool especially after ff7 the thing i remember the most about 8 though was grinding for drawing magic and such.. made me pretty op
Atlantis is such a great game!! I loved animated movie and this game made me so happy! I can’t play shooters (or stealth) games but I tried my best simply because I liked Syphon Filter so much! Also Chicken Run was such an amazing game.
Dragging Dead Bodies was originated by the sequel to father of all Stealth Games Beyond Castle Wolfenstein (1984), the original Castle Wolfenstein 1983 was stealth but no dragging dead bodies.
Runabout or Felony 11-79 is a criminally underrated game, only three tracks but the driving handling in that game felt ahead of the time and could even rival to the likings of car handling in games like GTA V, which is very rare to even no other games for driving games from the PS1 era.
Whoa, whoa....you chose the Phantom Menace over Dark Forces?! What?! Further, the claim that this was the first and only Star Wars game for the PSX to get it right...no way man. Dark Forces is a first person shooter that for the first time ever put you right in the Star Wars Universe. The sights and sounds were absolutely slick and the environments made you truly feel like you were scrapping it out against the Empire. Getting into huge blaster fights with hordes of Storm Troopers while deflector shields bounced blaster bolts everywhere was a-m-a-z-i-n-g. It was one of the very best PSX games for 1996. I have heard of and played Pandemonium 1+2 many times. We have them both in our retro collection today (fiancee and I). I got my first PlayStation in 1995 the same day the Sega Saturn released (yes at the same time). I was fastly approaching adulthood when I got my PSX and I loved it (still do). The transition from Sega Genesis/Snes to the 32-bit generation was around the time people began to accept gaming as mainstream *thank you Sega and Sony. The PlayStation became a way of life for me. I would often times bring it to parties and we would all get hammered playing Ridge Racer, Wipe Out...ect. I have played so many truly memorable PSX memories it's hard to list just one. Perhaps one of my most memorable times playing my PSX was when I got my hands on Ogre Tactics. It was so rare that I had to rent it from a video rental store and claim it was stolen so I could have my very own copy. My time playing Final Fantasy VII and Einhander with my best friend for days straight was great. Playing strip Ridge Racer 2 with the lovely yet smoking hot girls of Alpha Omicron Pi was a blast...seriously, those girls knew how to party. There were dark times as well...getting into a horrific accident in my 1996 GT Mustang and having my original PSX fly out of the trunk during the wreck. It skipped down the road and after it was all over the damn thing still worked. Staying in the hospital for three weeks with Road Rash for my PSX and Dragon Force for my Saturn to keep me company helped. This was also the time I became a GM man as my father helped me replace my totaled '96 GT with my 1994 25th Anniversary Trans Am (I still have the beast). Man...so many memories. One of my most recent memories with the PSX started in 2015. My fiancee is quite a bit younger than my (I'm now 39 and she is 28). As she is younger she missed out in the many games that made the PSX so damn good. As she is a every bit the gamer I am and a PlayStation girl at heart this has been a blast. Earlier this week I introduced Suikoden 2 to her and she hasn't been able to put it down. She's also getting a healthy dose of Sega Saturn as well...Panzer Dragoon Saga anyone? ;)
The first time I played Pandemonium was on a demo disc for Sega Saturn, back in 1996 or 1997. Fun demo too! It was just the first stage. I probably have the disc somewhere...
Pandamaonium tomba and syphon filter where pretty big games out here in England pal region. Just started collecting again for my ps1 and I already had these to start.
I played Pandemonium on the Nokia N-Gage, it was one of my favorite. Nokia N-gage had few games but they were verry good games, Pandemonium was one of the good ones, underrated there as well.
It’s been years since I’ve thought about Tomba! I use to play that game for hours. One of the best games! Im 31 now and I can’t believe I’ve forgotten all about this classic. Thank you for this video. P.S Jersey devil is also an underrated and forgotten game.
tomba 2 was the first rpg game that i ever played on the ps1. it made me love the rpg genre. i remember completing everything even going inside the golden tower itself and finishing the quest located inside
I have a good collection of ps1 games, I was most scared of the alien trilogy for the ps1 when I was a kid, the sounds of water dripping and the alien moving, it was really well made
What game is this if the character look to his left his color is red and if he look tonhis right his color is blue... i cant remember if im right about it i hope you can help me...
How is Pandemonium unheard of??? It was packaged with the PS when I bought mine from what I recall. Definitely remember putting many hours into it as a kid though.
Also, Heart of Darkness was phenomonal, but also brutally difficult... No idea how the hell I played it as a kid as trying to replay it as an adult, I suck at it xD
My list would include: -Yu-Gi-Oh! Forbidden Memories -Brave Fencer Musashi -Ape Escape -Small Soldiers -Star Wars: Masters of Teras Kasi -Tiny Tank -PO'ed -Lost World Jurassic Park -Tomba 2 -Mega Man Legends
i still go back to my ps1 just to play Tomba 1 and 2. love those games to death i really wish some how some way we'd be able to get an HD remake of both of them for ps4
Some more amazing games: Ace Combat 3 - Electrosphere (Japanese version w/ english patch), Ray Storm (Shoot em up), Omega Boost (Rails shooter like Panzer Dragoon), Apocalypse (Bruce Willis...), Silent Bomber (Amazing, but short.. Also campy)
My favorite psone memory was finally figuring out(after an old school dial up internet search) how to beat the final boss in metal gear solid by switching your controller to port 2. Me and my little brother struggled for literal DAYS in what to do to beat the pain in the ass scary dude. Great game, great memories. Unfortunately it didn't hold up well imho. I know I'll be crucified for saying that, but its painful to play now. Maybe not as painful as the tank controls in resident evil, but it's up there.
The Syphon Filter series is one of my all time favorite. Thank you for acknowledging it.
My favorite PlayStation 1 memory is the first time playing Spyro The Dragon. My first real 3D platform game
Aww yeah!

The Original Trilogy is good to this day, SF1 is my favourite game ever
Siphon filter looks dope as hell! I love that animation style
I love jedi power battles on ps1 for my star wars game. It was amazing.
zoenicoletv I have that game but I could never beat level 6.
Star Wars: Masters of Teras Kasi was awesome as well
6:40 you can deflect lasers in JEDI POWER BATTLES. (most underrated Star Wars game i think should be revisited)
pretty crazy but i played all of those games as a kid lol I gonna do a play through on Tomba 1 and 2 now cause of you XD I'll also give you a shout out cause Vex you just gave me a blast from the past. also wish you had house of dead on the list
Owning both games at the same time was special back then
From your taste in 3D platformers, You'd definitely enjoy Wild 9 on the PS1, also possibly Agent Armstrong as well.
I'll have to check it out. I feel like I've heard the name but I know i haven't played it
@@VexGamingTV It's a David Perry game, so you could well have done. But love all the quirky PS1 games like that, wish they were prepared to push the boat out like that nowadays :(
I've played all these games on PS1 back on 90s and still in love with tomba!
Solid video man! Thank you very much for this.
9 was better and more underrated then then all
In terms of gameplay I agree but 7 is the boss of them all
@@tinormous-road2gains13 Yuuuuuup. VII had the best story, imo. It is up there with III, VI, and X. III, VI, and XII had the most fun gameplay.
Ff 8 is where it's AT! First ff game i ever witnessed and still holds a special place in my heart.
I literally looked up "underrated ps1 games" hoping to find Chicken Run and Tomba on a list. Well done.
Got to admit I not a digimon fan but the first PS1 digimon game was extremely addictive definitely a great game
Great list tomba great but its a expensive game these days... pandemonium i would like to try hoping its more affordable
Thanks great video. Love to see one on Gamecube or PS2
Finally someone talking about Tomba!!! So good
Atlantis Aged very well almost looks like an early ps2 game cause of how stylized it is. Awesome vid!
It’s been years since I’ve thought about Tomba! I use to play that game for hours. One of the best games! Im 31 now and I can’t believe I’ve forgotten all about this classic. Thank you for this video.
P.S Jersey devil is also an underrated and forgotten game.
I couldn't get into pandamoniom back then. I remember seeing it and going 'oooo, that looks fun!' And then hated it haha.
Not heard of pandemonium? I thought it was the ps1 mascot at one point? My memory isnt what is used to be mind.
Pandemonium was strange
I think you're right. I remember it coming with the system, maybe?
I played The the heck out of syphon filter !!! Thanks for the review
Really enjoyed it would love some more of the same thing!
ive watched a few of these but still haven't seen the Grinch on any of these lists... you definitely wont regret checking it out!
I've heard it's horrible... I've never played it though. What do you like about it?
Ah man, the grinch!! That game was awesome
I once play Pandemonium I assume on a Emulator since I never owned Ps1 thanks for bringing back the memories
I remember that Tomba game from a demo disc I had as a kid.
Your so awesome for putting heart of darkness on the list. Such an underrated gem.
tomba 2 was the first rpg game that i ever played on the ps1. it made me love the rpg genre. i remember completing everything even going inside the golden tower itself and finishing the quest located inside
Excellent excellent taste in games dude keep it up
I have a good collection of ps1 games, I was most scared of the alien trilogy for the ps1 when I was a kid, the sounds of water dripping and the alien moving, it was really well made
What game is this if the character look to his left his color is red and if he look tonhis right his color is blue... i cant remember if im right about it i hope you can help me...
Great vid dude!
You may have convinced me to try out Pandemonium and Heart of Darkness. Maybe also Syphon Filter (though stealth games aren't normally my thing).
Great choices. Einhander deserves a special addition.
My list would include:
-Yu-Gi-Oh! Forbidden Memories
-Brave Fencer Musashi
-Ape Escape
-Small Soldiers
-Star Wars: Masters of Teras Kasi
-Tiny Tank
-PO'ed
-Lost World Jurassic Park
-Tomba 2
-Mega Man Legends
New subscriber, great vid :)
0:47 This place, with stairs in the center and locked doors, reminds me of Harry Potter for PS1.
i still go back to my ps1 just to play Tomba 1 and 2. love those games to death i really wish some how some way we'd be able to get an HD remake of both of them for ps4
Some more amazing games: Ace Combat 3 - Electrosphere (Japanese version w/ english patch), Ray Storm (Shoot em up), Omega Boost (Rails shooter like Panzer Dragoon), Apocalypse (Bruce Willis...), Silent Bomber (Amazing, but short.. Also campy)
I remember I collected lot of ps1 magazines come with demo can’t stop play demo than full games
Good old time
My favorite psone memory was finally figuring out(after an old school dial up internet search) how to beat the final boss in metal gear solid by switching your controller to port 2.
