I know this is an unpopular opinion, but... Mistrial is the only grind I think is acceptable to have a good sized gap between your feet AS LONG AS you get that back foot ALL THE WAY DOWN. Again, it's all about being intentional and demonstrating control.

Technicalities should increase points, as does style, lack of certain technicalities should, in no way, nullify the trick.
But i'm new at this, so I don't have enough burns yet.

been guilty of sloppy sunny days for years now. been working hard on tidying them up recently.. also learning them switch. looks so much better when you got the back foot locked in 🙌✨

@@TomMoyseI've always done them ultra sat down, arse on the cuff style. But the back foot was never really locked in properly. I think more stood up with the back foot in a torque position looks way better. It's not easy undoing two decades worth of muscle memory.. but it's always good to pin point and work on your weak spots xD
@@rollforever_85 I mean if that feels good I don’t knock it. It’s defo not the worst looking doing the whole sit down thing. I hear you about muscle memory. If I’m not skating all the time I go back to old, bad habits very quickly

I skated for 15+ years, still do, and never heard of the gap before... Learn something new everyday. I think most the time I keep it together but ive definitely had gaps.
Used to step up a lot when learning until one day I realized its wrong and had to relearn. Its so hard not to step up to backslides or torques.

For me, I want all my tricks to look proper or I’m not happy. I’m ngl I shake my head when I see a p-star and the feet aren’t locked n proper. I also shake my head when people roll topsides.

I don't know rules to tricks and I mix up trick names all the time. I never had rollerblading friends growing up, and by the time media on the topic became more accessible where i live I just watched videos for visual information instead of nomenclature; seeing where they put their feet, how and when they grabbed, etc.
As long as you’re having a good time mate I wouldn’t worry too much about it! 🙌🏻 The video is only for a bit of a laugh anyway

I reached the point in my life that I find not starting a trick with a two feet jump acceptable in certain cases ... but I know someone who is on a fairly good level and nearly every grind trick she does is a step up and I can't even ask about it without looking like a douche .
If she's stepping on, is she really at "a fairly good level"? I say no.
