Very helpful. Side selector for Deep Clean was not sealing. A quick wipe and a touch a silicon lube and it was all fixed. Watching you take this apart helped a lot.
Thank you so much. I bought a used unit on a budget only to find it would leak and dump all the solution within minutes. I was devastated that I wasted my money and turned to TH-cam. Thank you so much for these videos!
I love the way you do your videos, they are so organic (the phone ringing, T-shirt getting wet, you laughing about your mistakes, etc), you have a special joy and I can tell you are transparent and you love what you do. Thank you!
Thank you for your videos on these Bissell carpet cleaners!! Now if you developed a cutout and replace valve for these tanks, and manufactured and sold them, you'd soon be a millionaire! Cut out the leaking valve in a circle, repair it, and have a plastic ring and epoxy that glues the repaired valve in, water-tight. It's a nice dream, isn't it? So, what I've learned about how NOT to have this problem in the first place: DO NOT POUR BOILING HOT WATER INTO THE CLEANING WATER TANK!! My wife confessed that she poured hot water from our electric kettle into the tank, instead of hot tap water. I wound up getting a new tank for $35. I'm still keeping her, she's priceless. 💘
On mine it gushes water all the way down to the lid without the tank and floor is full of water instantly. I've taken it apart twice and don't know what to do
Thank you so much for the detailed break down. I had the exact problem as you and when I put it back together, I just made sure it was seated properly.
Thank you for your videos that helped me learn about and repair my Bissell. And just knowing there is a source of information to repair mine. I have two of the 3588F models, Revolution 2x Proheat Pet Plus or something like that.
Thank you for the video. It really did help. I was getting frustrated with the leak. The leak I have is just like that but it does it when it’s standing up. I’m glad you showed me how to take it apart too. Now I can look to see if their maybe anything else wrong with it.
This is perfect! I had mine dripping right out of the darn box, brand new! So, since I am mechanically able, I thought there HAD to be a way to fix this stuff! Thank goodness YOU are someone who cares to show how we can! I can deal with that, but, now I have to figure out why it won't suck up the water too! And it is NEW!...sheeesh. I hope you have a video on how to fix the suction problem. Cheers buddy! Keep up the great work, and care!!:) YOU ARE AWESOME!!!
Yey... At 14:28 we arrive at my exact problems. My little piece that receive the water tank isn't sitting high enough to release water from the tank. I solved that by placing a little piece of a wire connector over the center of that to raise it and deptess the tank release valve... Yey, my no spray problem fixed but now the rased piece won't allow the valve to close...resulting in the drip leaking water onto the floor at the back of the machine. Guessing I need a new gasket and maybe the little receiver (or whatever it's called) , but I'm trying to make it work today with what I have as opposed to buying parts that may or may not actually resolve my problem Looking forward to the final 10 min of thevid to see what happens next. Thanks for making these cause I wouldn't have the confidence to dive in w/o them. 😎
Ha! The ending was bittersweet. I was hoping for the magic solution but it turned out the answer was to replace the tank.... which is not something I can "fix". At least not yet . I'm determined to Mcgyver something 😊
I wish I had watched your video before I already got into it this deep. LOL. Great video, and very helpful. I love the way you guide people on learning how to explore something they dont know/understand. Good advice.
So the problem I'm having is with my Bissell Revolution and there's this red are underneath the water tank the second water tank that is at the very bottom where the water is leaking and I can't get it to stop
Excellent in depth video… you are amazing! When searching for the cause of a problem there is a strong desire for that “ lightbulb” moment when you find the culprit. Doctors, car mechanics, electricians are all in a major way just Detectives. You are allowed to go down many paths in a labyrinth as you search for the way out… the main lesson is don’t give up! You won in the end and that is what motivates me… when you win enough of these battles you gain experience and confidence and then you tackle everything that most mortals would avoid… that attitude makes you able to perform MAGIC for your customers and leave them in AWE of your skills. You are a PROBLEM SOLVER… and in today’s world that is getting to be a rare talent.
Thank you for this tutorial. First of all I think this is a common problem with Bissell.. I have this exact model and it’s leaked from day 1. I use it all the time on my tile floors because it does a super amazing job👍. But Super annoying to have it leaking all the time. ….Now I’m not getting any spray. I thought it was the pump so I replaced that today. Still no water. Blew the lines, they’re clear. Working my way up, there’s plenty of tension on the trigger. I took the handle off and used a screwdriver to push that thingy down. Still no water. So I guess now I’ll get the new tank and see how we do with that 🤣. I’m glad I found your video! It definitely helped me get through the process so I didn’t have to ask my husband. You’re much nicer to work with than my he is. He can’t get through a project like this without throwing massive hissy fits . So thank you kind sir, it’s been a pleasure 😂
@@monroevac good news! It turned out to be a warped clean water tank. I had it in storage during the hottest time of the year last year. I looked online and everyone was out of stock. Lucky for me I found a vacuum repair shop nearby and he had some tanks laying around and just gave me one. So very nice of him. Thanks again for your help 😁
Thank you for posting this. I've had 4 of these units and each one was defective, 2 right out of the box. Bissell should clearly recall this model and/or replace the clean water tank with one that's not defective. I'd recommend not purchasing this unit.
This happened with mine. I noticed that the auto feeder valve wasnt centered within the housing. When the clean water tank is set back into the machine, it wasn't seating properly into the valve. You would think that Bissell would have better quality control
Heat wave? Still not hot enough to warp That attachment. But check to see the the opening of the attachment is warped- check hose also. Another thing to try is to see a friend has an attachment for you to diagnose. See if it attaches. If so then you’ll probably have to buy a new part
Mine is not leaking from the auto receiver. I have figured out that the part next to the auto receiver (the one with the spring, that actuates with the handle) is not sealing tightly when the trigger is released. This is causing the cleaning solution to slowly trickle out of the tube at the bottom of the machine where it feeds into the removable brush cover. Do you know what that part is called and if there is a replacement for it?
Hi! Your video was really entertaining! I had just spent the afternoon getting to where you were. Then, looking for solutions came upon your video. LOL. I'll slap and screw it all back together again. I won't possibly remember where all the short of long screws go, but next time I'll remember to mark the holes with a silver marker (S, M or L), and to check for You Tube videos FIRST! Oh, I'm going to check to see if Bissel lists a replacement silicone gasket for the tank. I suspect it took a "set" over time, and I'm hoping can just be changed.
Ahh im sad, brand new out of the box and im having this issue. I know I should bring it back, i Just dont know if I should exchange it or not. This is on the Pro heat 2x revolution pet pro plus (tho), that I am having the same thing 😢
I am taking mine back because of the same problem on the proheat 2x revolution pet model. All new the tank leaks and the vac leaks when I put the tank on without tipping the vac.
Mine keeps tripping the breaker. I assume there's water trapped on the control board that creating an artificial circuit. How do I get to the board to dry it out?
My problem is leaking from down where the brushes is??? I bought it and one time used? I went over all your videos hoping to find if you have created video about that but couldn’t find, any help please ?
Hi Lydia, sorry for the delayed response. To my knowledge Bissell do not sell the auto load receiver for this model. The options are limited unfortunately but it look like you me need to find a used machine and either use that or take the parts you need. Other than that a unit replacement may be the other only alternative. Sorry I couldn’t help further
I have this exact model. It was just draining all of the water out of the bottom where it was supposed to the moment I put the clean water tank on..I went through the whole video. My clean and dirty tank are perfect. What I think the issue was….was the mode selector on the side. Somehow it slipped out of place and kept the clean water hose open and let water gush out. If anyone else is having this issue, disassemble the middle part and make sure the mode selector is properly in place. No leaks for me so far
Mine was leaking right out of the box, I just paid $300 for this thing and it's leaving big puddles when not in use. It looks like they are using cheap rubber cement to glue the valve to the bottom of the tank. On mine the source of the leak was obvious and the valve easily pulled off, I'm very lucky it didn't fall off, it was that loose. Having it screw on would have been a much better design, what the hell were they thinking when they designed this? I think I'm going to call Bissell today and if I don't get an ass kissing for having to deal with this nonsense then I'll return it and buy a Hoover. I've owned Bissell carpet cleaners in the past and was very happy with them. It's pretty obvious they have no longer have quality control. Thanks for posting the video, I was pretty sure I wasn't the only one dealing with this issue, thanks for confirming.
I had the same problem with the clean water tank leaking / dripping when the vacuum is leaned back. I took off the little red gasket at the bottom of the clean water tank. (Monroevacs shows how to get the gasket off in th-cam.com/video/A_9cIVfw6q4/w-d-xo.htmlfeature=shared&t=410 ) I then wrapped teflon sealing tape around where the gasket was on the tank. I used 1/2" ptfe teflon sealing tape, and it was the perfect width. I probably wrapped around 5 to 10 times. I then put the gasket back on over the ptfe tape. It seems to have solved the problem. (I couldn't find a replacement gasket for the Revolution Pet ProHeat, or I would have just bought a gasket. I could find replacement tanks, but I didn't want to pay for the whole tank.)
Leaks in the tank is either a crack, a broken seal or the gasket on the bottom needs replacing. ( the part that connects with the auto receiver) no permanent worth your time fix for cracks. Water will it’s way. Honestly the simplest answer is to replace the tank

Hello, can this machine clean larger-pile carpets, or is it only suitable for short-pile carpets?
It can you may have to take it slow when trying to extract the water. Vacuum thoroughly before shampooing and even pretreat the stain if any
Mine keeps tripping the breaker. I assume there's water trapped on the control board that creating an artificial circuit. How do I get to the board to dry it out?
No control board on this one. Water may be in you motor or the motor is rusted due to water and the blade may have seized up causing the short
