Yarrow Flowers - Achillea Millefolium Plant 💮 Flower #10

Yarrow (Achillea millefolium) is a perennial plant, native to temperate region of Europe, Asia and North America, commonly found in natural places. Grows on well-drained soils in dry conditions, from plains to mountains, love sun and bloom from June to September. There are 100 species, many of them are cultivated in gardens as an ornamental plant or herb.
Yarrow presents in soil a rhizome lignified with underground stolons. Stem plant, slightly curved at the beginning, is right, simple or branched at the top and can reach up to 80 cm high. It is ending with flowers arranged in ovoid inflorescences; marginal flowers are white (common), red, pink or yellow. The leaves are about 5 cm long with thousands of foliole.
His Latin name, "Achillea", comes from Achilles, who used this medicinal plant to stop bleeding and to heal the wounds of his soldiers. Millefolium means mille (a thousand) + folium (leaf) - a thousand leaves.
Yarrow is an ancient herb, but only in the eighteenth century regains therapeutics reputation. Can be use the aerial part of the plant (Herba Millefolium), flowers (Flores Millefolii) or leaves (Folium Millefolii). Is very useful in the treatment of fever and colds, improve digestion and circulation, stops bleeding, helps heal wounds, is a good urinary antiseptic and is a wonderful herb for the reproductive systems.

Is contraindicated for those with hypersensitivity to any member of the Asteraceae family. Use in epileptic patients is contraindicated.
