- In the first game of the 2024 college football season, the Yellow Jackets took on the 10th-ranked Seminoles in Dublin, Ireland. In the end, Georgia Tech stunned the Seminoles with a 24-21 upset, thanks to a 44-yard field goal by Aidan Birr with no time left on the clock. Georgia Tech quarterback Haynes King completed 11 of 16 passes for 146 yards, and he ran the ball 15 times for 54 yards. Running back Jamal Hayes scored two rushing touchdowns and ran for 75 yards on 11 carries. For Florida State, quarterback D.J. Uiagalelei threw for 193 yards on 18-27 passing in his Seminoles debut.

No, DJ didn't lose the game, but he didn't win it, either. OL couldn't run block for s**t, but with a few exceptions, pass protection was pretty good. Yet it seems like there was a whole lot of checking down. Is GT secondary really that good?

Right, took 6 years to rebuild to this point. Only getting better, not saying we are going to be top 10 or anything this year but we have a coach and an admin that finally seems ready to spend a bit on NIL(and a top 20 recruiting class to show for it).

4th quarter had a total of 3 drives, and the first one was one play for a GT touchdown. Noles playcalling cost this game with no time management by allowing clock to be chewed down by running in 2 even 3 times in a row. If they let DJU pass, even if it's an incompletion, clock stops. Tempo lost the Noles this game, they need to be faster going forward.

How do you rush for 60 something yards on the opening drive and only finish with 98 total... and 6 of Florida states points came from freak distance field goals
They also had to convert on 4th down twice to tie it.

1:13 Its crazy how, even on the series that FSU absolutely dominated, that Georgia Tech was getting insane penetration with their d-line and most of the big running plays came from the RB breaking contain or someone not filling a gap.
Speed up front got it done for GT. Their skilled players are so small you don’t even see them in the two teams mashing up then boom there goes the GT RB/ WR.

The game isn’t solely on DJ but if you watch him at all of his schools the eye tells you it doesn’t look as if he’s gotten any better.
We was just outplayed n out coached. Even on that last 3rd dwn they gave to much ground coaching scared that easy screen n gave up the game. Coach need to let Dj throw the ball down the feild more n protect him better. But it was a great game. We ain't done go noles!.
Why in the world would Florida State want DJ at QB? He couldn't make it at Clemson. Did totally nothing for Oregon State. Super overrated.

FSU got outcoached and outplayed. We often rely on our depth in these close games where we wear the other team down and our subs are better than theirs but with so few possessions that didn't work. Props to GT. FSU, get it together!

Benson and Douglas will be the two primary receivers. The running game will be better. The defense, front seven, has to be much better. Jones should be moved OLB.
Look, if fsu would have let DJU pull the ball and throw it on those rpo's it would've been a different story. GT loaded the box on 1&2 down and I dont understand why Norvell did that. Made no sense as to why they didn't pull the ball and throw against an 8 man box on those rpo's. No sense whatsoever.

Crazy how they got robbed out of a playoff spot having went undefeated last season and then lost their season opener in a huge upset against unranked GT. they’ll probably have to win out to even get a chance at the playoffs and even then It’s unlikely. Not fun if you’re a FSU fan.

Why do people blame DJ? I really don’t get it… FSU’s coaches failed them, I get having RPO be big in your offense, that’s cool and all but if you don’t present the threat of a deep ball until you’re down with 7 mins left in the 4th then what are you doing?
