My philips perfect care steam iron always turns the de-calc light on and draining lime water doesn't solve the issue. I think lime is stuck inside of pipes etc. What should I do to solve the calc problem? I do not want to throw away the steam iron.
You might need to run the de-calc cycle a few times, until all the limescale is gone. Also try to use deionized or distilled water, to avoid limescale.
hello can ypou help. My philips inside became to mossy because i keep the water inside too long. I mean when i fill the water, im not removeing the water inside just refill it (mix with old water) and now it was so dirty and look moldy
Hi, I would say, you need to use some descaler, fill it up completely, let it sit for some time to work and then run it through, as most likely the pipes are also full of cr.p. You shouldn't use tap water, but deionized, or distilled water.
Hello, I use the same iron. But the lime valve of my iron does not open, the lime has not been cleaned for a long time, the valve does not turn at all. Do you have any suggestions for a solution to this issue?
Hi, you definitely try to do it when it is completely cold? If yes, most likely it has "rotten" inside. Most likely you would need to apply higher force, use some tools to gain more grip/force, or before, you could try to run through a couple of rounds of descaler, to see if that could help to loosen it up from the inside.
@@OCDaddyZsolt yes the iron is totaly cold, and yes I just tried it to open with a towel and pincers, however the valve got broken :/ I will bring it to the service.. thx anyway

Which powder use for cleaning
It was a Tenzi descaler powder. But any descaler should do the trick.
baking soda works?
@@mitchellesakina8953 Never tried baking soda for this purpose. Maybe “lemon acid” would be a good alternative.
