I ain’t never seen a video so direct and informative god bless you sir😂
Straight to the pony and simple! Best help ever. Now if only you can tell me how to do EVERYTHING else ❤
Thank you sir for the tips but I was wondering about putting it on a hot burner for extended periods of time. How long is too long would you say?
You’re welcome, and thank you too, my friend! As long as it is not extremely high heat for extended periods without cooking, it is ok. If you are not cooking, it might create an issue, but they were made for cooking.
I did not know the one about hot putting it on the stove on High! Thanks Mike.
Yes sometimes I forget to season the bottom and over a period of time the burners burn the oil off and it will have a small area of rust that begins to form.
Good info for those just beginning to use CI. It's the basics, but seems like common sense to many of us who have experience with CI cookware.
Exactly! Simple tips for eliminating a potential problem before it becomes one!! Thanks bud!! Have a great day my friend!

#6,....continuos care and usage! Great points Mike because there are many out there that do violate these 5 tips!
Growing up in the 60's&70's, I remember the black cast iron pan in our house, used for cooking eggs in the mourning and frying hamburger in the evening. One of the lessons I recall from having this unique utensil in our cooking arsenal, was that you needed to season it regularly, to keep it from rusting. 💪🏼😆👋🏼🥥🍳💧🔥👀👍🏼👍🏼
Those are great memories for sure Tim! Thanks for sharing them with us my friend!!
Great tips! Properly seasoned cast iron is a game-changer. Thank you for such helpful tips!
Thank you and you’re welcome too my friend! Cast iron is the best…in my opinion lol!!! Do you cook in cast iron?

Five excellent tips Mike and yes I remember what happened when you put the pan in the dishwasher it was not a pretty sight!!!
Thanks, Patrick!! Yes, that skillet had a rough time in the dishwasher, but I think it’s going to be ok, don’t you!!??
All great tips, Mike. I put them on the both playlists. Stay safe and stay cool
Hello, This is great tip. Thank you for sharing. Have a wonderful Saturday.
Great info and something new to me with putting it on a hot burner for too long 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻!
Yes I’ve forgotten to oil the bottom of my skillet before and over a period of time the heat will weaken the seasoning and it will begin to rust! Note to self…turn the burner down lol and oil the bottom too!!
I plan on keeping mine forever 👍👍
I heard that Chappy!! That’s another great thing about cast iron, it will last!!
we just bought oyr cast iron pan and these tips really helped us. just one question can i just put it in the cabinet after applying oil? will it be okay?

Have a nice day! My Friend🤗😍😄🙏🏻
Hi Mike, thanks for the tips. I learn something new every time I watch your videos.
What would you advise for burnt on olive oil? I know, should have used something else....🙄
Tried the brush that came with it, tried chainmail even tried a plastic scraper but it's real hard to remove. Any ideas?
Thanks.. 🤞
Thank you Ms. Margaret! I would try vinegar and baking soda first. If the skillet is real bad you may have to strip it down and reseason it. If its not too bad and it doesn't bother you then I would just keep using it! I hope this helps!!??
Good tips. Don't like No Rusty Cast Iron. Lol. 😁. Nicely Done. Thanks for sharing. 😎.
Hey I need to know what oil do you use? For number 5? Just put your olive oil or?

Hello Mr. Cast Iron I just bought a Lodge 3.5” Cast Iron Skillet. Hahahahaha. It’s so small. It can only cook 1- Egg. Perfect for Egg McMuffin. I also put a lanyard on it and I wear it as a Bling Neckless everywhere I go. I made a Video. Do you have any other Ideas how I can use this? Thank You So Much. I Love My Little Skillet So Much. Cheers Eh😇
Lol, that’s too cool! I’ve never heard of anyone wearing one as a necklace before! I think cooking egg McMuffins and maybe brownies or a cookie might be it! Well, hamburger patties and grilled cheese too!
Can cast iron skillets survive a Nuclear attack? I'd say yes...then whomever survives should follow all of your cast iron advice Mike!!!
LOL!! That's one way to look at it Big Rob!! I hope it never comes to that but if it does I hope we survive it and I'll cook lol!!
Mine is already rusted, what can I do?
Hey Sherry! Great question and thanks for asking! If it’s not too bad you can take some Dawn dish soap and warm water and clean it, dry it, and season it. I have some videos here that should help you…Cast Iron For Beginners th-cam.com/play/PL_5hc4Ydo7FkGJLCok-qwv5-LhYzaMpGa.html
ALSO, if you used in outside (cooking over open fire, on bbq pit or on a fish fryer) REMEMBER to bring it inside. I've seen a few pieces where people forgot to bring them inside and the dew or rain started to rust them.
Yes sir that is right!! Or even in places where there is high humidity will make them rust too!! Thanks for sharing this with us my friend!!
