Ah, gearboxes. Reisenauer's are quite good, back when we were still using Kontronik ones, we had to take them apart with heat gun ... Imagine how good that was for the magnets. It is always useful to know your motor idle current draw without the gearbox, with the fresh gearbox and with the gearbox after some flying. It's the best indication of the state of the gearbox. Also after some time you don't need the amp meter anymore, you learn to tell just by the sound of it if it needs work or not. Anyway, what you showed here is my main motivation to prefer direct drive setups and avoid this mess altogether. PS. Maintenance is a good topic for this year ;)
I know Im asking the wrong place but does someone know of a way to get back into an instagram account..? I was stupid forgot the login password. I would appreciate any tricks you can give me!
@Camilo Matthias I really appreciate your reply. I got to the site thru google and Im in the hacking process now. Takes quite some time so I will get back to you later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
There is actually 2 bearings holding the shaft. Looks like the bearings are sealed. I was worried that the cleaner might remove the grease in the bearings but the planetary gear holder would shield them from any overspray I guess.
D'you know how to dismantle planet for planetary gear from motor shaft glued with Loctite 648? My seems to be worn out and difficult to be removed. Any idea?
If you want to remove pinion on motor shaft I think you would need a small gear puller and maybe use soldering iron to heat up gear and maybe melt glue.
I don't think you showed lubricating the ballrace at the front of the gearbox? That might be important after using the brake cleaner to remove all old lubrication. FWIW
Excellent! Removed much of the mystery of these gearboxes for me - thank you.

@Camilo Matthias it worked and I now got access to my account again. Im so happy:D
Thanks so much you really help me out :D
@Rey Davian no problem :)
Is there a place where you could send the gearbox for repair or replacement?
