Haley Reinhart, accompanied by her father on guitar, performed a 2-song set at Chicago's famous Chess Records studio as part of the virtual music festival '(De)Tour' - a fundraising event benefiting NIVA (National Independent Venue Association www.nivassoc.org) and 'MusiCares' (www.grammy.com/musicares).
Both these organizations were created in the wake of the COVID19 pandemic to help struggling independent venues and their staff that were shuttered for the entire duration of the health crisis.

Haley is one of the most gifted female vocalist on the scene today. However, the vast overwhelming majority of people have never ever heard of Haley, much less have ever heard her sing because she hasn't signed with a record label. A lot of people think that's a good thing, but most singer/songwriters do sign with major record labels to bring as much joy and happiness to the world as possible. Unfortunately, that's not the case with Haley. Hence, she always remains very obscure.

Haley signed with Interscope and Concord in the past. CDs were distributed at Walmart and Target. That's not the way most people consume music nowadays. So signing with a label for physical distribution isn't a factor these days.
Radio networks may be joined at the hip with labels, but labels are pursuing popularity, not producing it.
It's very much, "What have you done for me lately?" An example:
"Following her success as a writer, (Julia Michaels) released her debut single with Republic Records in 2017, 'Issues', which peaked at number 11 on the Billboard Hot 100 in the United States and was certified quintuple-platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA)."

I love this video and her version. She recorded this song on her covers album and it's great. The album is called "What's That Sound". It has White Rabbit, Baby It's You, For What It's Worth, The Letter, Oh Darlin, Sunny Afternoon, Time of the Season, These Boots are Made for Walkin' and three originals. It's a very good album.

You know, when they did that benefit, there were a ton of other famous music artists also participating, as the whole thing was broadcast over Facebook live, but Haley stole the show that day. As practically no one knew beforehand who she was because she always remains an independent artist, but after her performance, no one could stop commenting and talking about how blown away they were by Haley Reinhart, her dad, and that fantastic performance. As she killed it.

With guitar as the only accompanying instrument, I can really catch the nuances in Haley's vocals, which certainly makes this an enjoyable listen. Here's a link to an off the chart live performance from just Aug. 28th, 2021 of Haley performing at the Oshkosh, WI Jazz Festival her brand new just released song titled "Roll The Dice". As she is accompanied by the Dave Damiani Orchestra together with her father playing lead guitar. She just knocked it out of the park. Again, you can just watch and listen to it at your leisure and for your own enjoyment or otherwise react to it. Whatever you prefer, but it is nonetheless a spectacular performance.

tom... if you enjoyed these two, i think you will really like the "dear prudence" cover she did with morgan james. it's just the two of them harmonizing w/ one guitarist. it does have some echo since it is not in a studio (appears to be an apartment), but it is still very good as you would expect from those two. also, her references to etta james remind me of an excellent cover she did of "at last" at an outdoor live event here from the haleyTusk fan site (th-cam.com/video/XaC955-obfw/w-d-xo.html)... also, something seems a little off with your recent reaction videos not quite matching audio. may want to look into that.
