I understand the Mission design comment, but there are advantages and disadvantages of side or front input/output jacks. You can always use a TRS/TS cable with a right angle jack to have the cable run along side the expression pedal.
I hear you, Paul. I am used to having a Wah pedal on the right side and was hoping to keep it snug to the TMP on a pedal train board or something like that. I know they also make flat cables, I'm just not ready to spend more money on it and will complain about the design lmao. You're right tho. I had this setup when I did the Addams Family
I just bought the TMP and have been learning a lot from your videos..would you happen to have a video on the Bluetooth function..just a thought..thanks again for all your content on this unit
Andy. I think if you also assign the toe switch on/off to the pedal for the volume when it is in the opposite state to the wah then you don’t need to assign a footswitch. One press will have wah on/volume off the next wah off/volume on?
Yeah but I would worry about pedal position. If you’re on the heel and you click into volume, you have none. I wouldn’t do that unless you’re really comfortable with it
@@damionandy Hadn’t thought of it that way. I just tested it and it seems that it works the other way. When ever you press the toe switch the Wah follows it all the way so you always have full toe Wah when you switch and that goes to full volume, probably not ideal either. I used to have a GTX100 amp and I seem to recall that having an option for the expression pedal to revert to either physical pedal position or preset stored position. That would seem to be something useful on the TMP also.
Great video once again. How are you recording noise free? I always get noise coming through. So many volumes to set (amp level, preset level, mixer level). I’m going wrong somewhere.
I’m recording straight from the 2 XLR out into a scarlet interface. Both gain knobs on the scarlet are at 0. I just watch the gain staging and make sure I’m staying in the green when recording by using the master mix knob
@@damionandy I’ve been trying via usb to cut out the interface but very low signal to the computer. When I push the output and preset levels it improves but get a little of floor noise too. I think a lot of people will try and use it this way so maybe a video on using it as an interface might be popular. Thanks for the reply. Keep up the great work with the videos.
@@srcottle3212 if you're getting noise, change outlets. You may have a noisy circuit. If you still have noise, consider getting a power distributor ($100 for a high end one). For volume, click the master mixer and set your USB volumes to 0 DB. Then check your amp volume.
Can you set the expression pedal as “auto-return” so that the pedal activates simply by pressing it down rather than having to stomp on a separate button to activate the pedal? Basically can you have it be on bypass in the up position and then be turned on simply by pushing the pedal down?
I know this is available on the AxeFx3, but I’m not 100% it’s on the TMP. I honestly don’t like this because the axefx3 expression pedal will activate when I don’t intend to use it.
What would you recommend for expression pedal with toe switch for TMP? Their mission pedal is still back ordered. Should I wait for that or is there another one that will function just as well?
Hi Damion, is there a way when ur using an Exp Pedal as volume control, if the position is on zero level when u change a patch it will be on zero too? Or if 50% level it will be d same on the next patch u will use. Coz, whenever i change patch, the level i saved it will be the level it will be on unlike on some other fx like fm9. Im using a Mission Engr-ing QC XP pedal btw.
You can use it as a volume pedal by creating a volume pedal on your preset. There’s currently, to my knowledge, no way to control global volumes. This is my biggest gripe on the TMP; however, I’m aware of it and try to make my patches the same volume to avoid this and I just never use the 100+ factory default tones
Hi Damion, Thank you very much for your videos that help me a lot and, again, I want to ask a question. Taking into account the difficulty in finding the mission engineering sp1-tmp tone master pro expression pedal, could you recommend another pedal that allows volume control and the wah wah? Kind regards
Just depends if you want the toe switch or not. The TMP doesn't support auto wah (yet), but you can always tap a button to turn Wah on and control it with ANY expression pedal. You can use any Mission Engineering pedal - check this one out www.amazon.com/Mission-Engineering-SP1-ND-Cortex-Expression/dp/B09MWL41VZ/ref=sr_1_2?crid=5H4EFBV5H1IJ&keywords=mission+engineering+expression+pedal&qid=1708116130&sprefix=mission+pedal%2Caps%2C120&sr=8-2
Great video and tones and really enjoy your content. One day when (not if) I’ll get the extra funds For the tone master pro! Grateful for your content and like watching your channel grow! You’ll get an audience that much I believe. How’s all that for positive affirmations? 🙏🏻🎸❤️🌟
Would the headrush expression pedal be a suitable option to fender pedal? Is the headrush pedal restricted to momentary toe switch. (I noticed momentary toe switch mentioned on an Amazon advert).
Hi, Thanks for your video. I have a Fender Exp1 Expression pedal that I use with a Fender Mustang GT200 where there are 2 connections. One goes to the GT200 Amplifier and the other goes to another MS-4 Footswitch pedal. How should I connect it to the Toner Master Pro?
Is there a way to make you expression pedal settings universal for all settings with a wah pedal? It is very tedious having to set up the same expression pedal settings on every patch with a wah pedal. Thanks
Hey Brian! I would look at how I programmed the phaser and replicate that with the mix. You will just have to do 2 pedals with one button (not an issue). Make sure both of the pedals you are using have a mix for each. I guess you COULD assign the toe switch to control both! Keep me posted how it works for you
Hi. I haven't gotten it to work. I have configured it as you do in the video but it has not worked. I use a TRS cable and a normal guitar cable and I have connected it to Exp1 and/or to the TOE Switch, making all possible combinations (the Fender type pr 1157 pedal has a switch button under the lever and 2 inputs: a mustang AMP and MS-4 Footswitch). I'm a little lost and sad
No, not wirelessly. It can work in three ways, wireless, std wired and usb. I use std midi cable. I set separate parameters when it’s on and off this way I can control wah and volume. Toe switch ignites wah.
A session on putting a beat buddy or similar drum machine into TMP. Would be great. ENJOY your videos. Thanks.
I hit "like" before I even watch Damion's videos on the TMP because I trust it's going to be good content. :)
Man, you’re too king! Thank you 🙏 🤘

You can also use midi expression pedal. I use boss ev-1-wl for instance.
Interesting. Do you use it wirelessly? If so, how?

Thanks for the video. With the standard Mission expression pedal with a toe with, it will only work if you use a TRS cable for both of the outputs.

Any long ones?

It should work (if this is the one you're referring to: Headrush Expression Pedal - Premium Expression Pedal with Toe Switch)

Just responded to your Facebook comment, try that and let me know
What type of pedal (well, nice and cheap 😂) do you recommend for volume and wah wah?
Andy, I am interested in lessons with you. How would I go about that?

Have you tried using a mono cable?
Try 2 TRS cables. It works
Missed a trick not having the toe switch to switch between the volume and wah expression.
That would mean your expression pedal is always on - not something I want personally.
