@jazzluvr4u yeah then we must be some how family or even family friends. I'm not that old but ive grown up listening to all the Ibarra's play this music at family parties and even our birthdays. this passed summer i filmed Serafin, my cousin Pedro and my Padrino Lupe Ibarra play about 2 hours of music. I uploaded a "test" clip on my page of them but I've yet to upload the rest.
@MrHaHA Yes his father and my my mother were siblings. Uncle Daniel recently passed away but we still call him here from the Chicago area. Not sure if you know this but Serafin has a HUGE following in Chicago due to his ties with a lot of family who migrated up here. Also, a lot of people from that region in the Chicagoland as well as Michigan.
@MrHaHA ....more than likely! My Mom's father was mi abuelito Alberto Ibarra. Last time I saw Pedro, he was in Morelia in the summer of '95 before I joined the Army. He was studying the music down there as I recall. Haven't seen him since. Last I heard, he came back north to Chicago and joined the Marines. Same Pedro? lol
