Really cool, I am having a blast listening to the tweaks I make. I am scaring the dogs though.

Hi. I'm brand new to Max. How are you opening the audio file in this patch? You're clicking something offscreen and the box comes up so you can select an audio file. How are you doing that? Thanks for your help!

Hello~ welcome to the world of Max :D When one sends the "replace" message to the buffer~ object a file window automatically opens to select the audio file you want to play. The audio file I chose is a sample excerpt from music I've made. Best of luck! Feel free to reach out for any more questions.

Thanks so much for your reply and welcome! I’ll try this out and I’ll let you know if I have any more questions. I can’t tell you how much I appreciate it.

Hi, thanks for the great tutorial! It seems like in my case the zerox~ object can't detect almost any zero crossings, rendering the patch basically non-functional. Any idea why? I tried with many different samples but none will work. Only at certain times I see the value moving to 1 very briefly and then it goes back to 0.
    Thanks in advance!

Nevermind, I seem to have found the issue: despite my I/O vector size being set to 512, for some reason my signal vector size was set to 2, essentially resulting in extremely rare zero crossings.

Not sure! You could try re-installing Max? Or reach out on the C74 forums. You could also try use the zerox~ object in the simplest possible patch as a way to isolate the problem: just an sfplay~ object connected to zerox~ and see what happens. Good luck!!

@@bluecliffsynthesis6685 Thanks, sorted! Vector size was too small so of course no zero-crossings were detected :)

saving 1:40 for the zerox object
