My favorite thing to use a Big for is all my mail and papers related to household. I punch them when they arrive and file them under the proper month when they come in. Shred the rest. Saved my sanity.

I'm a BIG planner girl! I write big and need the big. It's easy to hole punch anything and use it that way.
The BIG teacher planner is the best layout but I white-out the mon-fri on the left side and write the whole week's acrossed the top, mon-sun.
I also use a BIG for trip planning, everyone in the group can look at it, the maps, all the tickets, the daily plan and hotel info. It takes the pressure off of me alway being the planner and navigator and always hearing what are we doing next...everyone can take over and see. It's always located in the pocket behind the driver and all can see it.
The bands wrap the other way around the BIG, as the BIG is as wide as the classic is tall.

This is all very valuable information from a big planner expert! Thank you so much for sharing! I had no idea that a big is as wide as the classic is tall.

@@CreatinginChaos I quess I should qualify the big with mini rings is as wide as the height of the classic covers. So the stretchy band fits it the BIG (side to side) the same way as top to bottom on the classic.

Long comment here! Love you video!! For the BIG size HP, if you are having trouble finding accessories, I've been able to find things designed for 12 disc notebooks (not HP brands), and these work very well since the dimensions are just a tad larger than 8.5 x 11 sheets. I found a random one on Amazon one time, and the dividers had pockets big enough to hold full sheets of paper! Basically I just dont use a 12th disc at the bottom of the notebook, & it helps to slide the entire thing into a BIG size HP cover. Also, there is one more small size of HP you may want to know about if you don't already, and it is called the " HP micro" size ( 4 discs!). I have not investigated if there is a "micro mini" version of the micro. HP actually does sell a couple of products (notes paper) for the micro size, so I take that to mean that it's an officially accepted size by the company, although maybe not super popular. Like other sizes that HP hasnt quite adopted (like the half-letter), I guess the micro size is popular enough that you can find a variety of accessories from etsy and other places. I mean, I can't really imagine using a size so tiny, but people seem to use it! I think it has to be similar in size to those very tiny 3 ring binders that are popular in the sticker community...maybe the size of a standard square post-it note!

I LOVE my Big Happy Planner: I use a vertical for my catch-all and a dashboard for work. It's my favorite size. I do also use several classic size planners, but the BIG is my jam!!

Go BIG!:) Have had 4 of them then decided I'd go smaller this year with an A5 in another brand. Huge mistake. Hate it. With big, you can frankenplan and put any of the other sizes in it. What I love most is no paper cutting to fit. No folding papers you have to shove into an additional pocket or folder. Yes it takes up a larger bag or tote but weight wize I don't really feel it is any worse than a massively stuffed A5. Or the weight of leather covers added to rings/strings planners. Going back to BIG for next year if I don't buckle and get a July start from the Spring Collection.

OK, I’m taking the plunge and just set up a BIG dashboard layout to try for two weeks. I’m sitting it down right next to my classic and I’m going to see if I will use the big one instead :). (disclaimer - I already use a big HP for work and have done so for about three years).
I’m giving this a try because writing has become worse and more tedious (osteoarthritis and dry eye syndrome) during the last 12 months. Hoping the extra writing space will keep me engaged, lol

The biggest size I use is the classic. The main reason is my age and health. I'm 74, have arthritis, and I'm fighting stage for cancer. Next month will be 2 years into the fight. I have at least another year to go. I frankenplan, and when it gets fat on the large discs, my planner hurts my hands to pick up. Many weeks lately, I have been stuck in my recliner because I have trouble sitting at a desk in a normal chair. So my work surface is my lap. Also, the planner can make my tote bag really heavy. These are facts to work around, complaining does ones mental health no good. I like all the goodies for the classic planner. I found I like jotting down notes and lists on the skinny sheets. I did pick up a skinny classic last year on one of my rare shopping trips. I don't have the strength to walk very far. It has turned into storage for my supply of half sheets. I got the classic sewing themed notebook last year. It is now my hobby project book. Watching this video has made me think about breaking out of the frankenplanner. Do the classic for my planner because I need that much space to write. The rest of the frankenplanner could just become another classic notebook. Then, make the skinny classic into a list and notes holder. These could all fit in the dishpan I'm keeping next to my recliner. It also holds the current books I'm reading and the current handwork I'm doing. Doing all this would make my actual planner lighter to put in my tote I take to treatments. Thank you for inspiring me to finally tackle a solution for this problem.

FYI, I just spent a long time on the happy planner website. They are having a huge sale. I managed to find skinny classic and mini planner stuff on there. The sale is 20 pages long. These sizes things are scattered through all the pages. I now have a skinny classic planner, a mini planner, and a mini notebook on the way. This is on Saturday, February 25. I didn't notice how long the sale goes.

Does anyone know if any Gillio planner covers will fit any of these? I think a B6 Appunto can accommodate a mini Happy Planner, and also fits in the outer cover of a medium MIA Cara. But, I really like to use a much larger size than the mini.
The only other option I know of is to custom order a VDS. I really want to try a Happy Planner, but ……I need it to be inside a beautiful Italian leather cover 😂. I can’t help it. I hate the bright shiny plastic covers on HP
