Comments about how boring these lectures are reflect on the nature of those making the comments, not the lectures or the lecturers. This is high quality stuff and the information emanating from the talks is pure gold. Sadly, at least one of the lecturers (Aaron Cohen) passed away last year so it is even more important that we have access to this resource. None of these chaps are geting any younger.

How anyone could call this video boring is beyond me! It's so rich in information and from a guy who designed the Apollo spacecraft AND the space shuttle! I think it's one of the best aerodynamics videos on youtube. Thank you so much for posting it.

To anyone having semantic misunderstanding on this particular video. What your'e looking at here, is an outline as to how government looks at this issues as opposed to the engineering and creative staff.
In many projects you cannot do anything without that interplay of the two, as this braces out to understanding so all principles can be sold to the people who pay taxes for the development of projects such as this.Get yourself a beverage and or a snack and do sit down and take the time to listen to what this guest is saying. This understanding will help you later on.

    He made a mistake.
Concorde DID NOT have canards. Like the Shuttle, Concorde could maintain perfectly adequate pitch control without the need for canards. The Russian SST (the Tu-144) DID have canards because their wing shape was not as sophisticated as Concorde's or the Shuttle's.
In fact, the prototype Tu-144 didn't have canards either - but the Russians found they needed them to give the aircraft decent pitch control.

Note' the bridge concepts of PRIME and ASSET, were two miniature lifting body proof of variable concepts practicalities, that were both hot launches off the pad. These had been very critical projects, as they one, in the engineering scene proved that theory planners could begin to adapt differing type of thermal; protection layers. This was other than just the routine ablative injected coatings and two, that the shape, in this case the flying bathtub design of the lifting body, would indeed in the real world work.
These two project alone represent reentry vehicle dynamically changed evolution and are worth looking up for your syllabuses works. In this vid you must re-translate a bit, but it's worth everything if one does this in their studies here.*Note Russia had attempted the same program with their version of Prime and Asset. Thanks, Vrendus
