    By the way the only tool that you need is the screw driver provided in by Lexus in trunk and the screw closer to the fender is a vertical movement as well as per the manual.When you use the screw you can count how many teeth your are moving and the same amount should be applied to both screws as per the manual instructions

    That part you discarded is a transmission that makes both high and low beams adjust together, the way Lexus intended then to be adjusted - and probably why there's a sticker on the radiator support just above the headlamps that says as much.
    No need to take that part off. Just spin the gear under it with a suitable tool.

      @Amercado7  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Good to know, but its alot Easier and faster with it off also wont chew up the plastic around the gears.

    • @GroovesAndLands
      @GroovesAndLands 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Don't see how it's easier, considering you don't need to remove the lamp or the transmission to make adjustment?
      I had no issue making adjustment without chewing up any plastic pieces.

      @@GroovesAndLands because instead of using a Phillips head screwdriver (which would be very difficult to adjust gears if they were seized like my old ones were) or something like that you can use a 8mm ratcheting wrench and adjust it much quicker since it takes alot of rotation to actually get it to adjust. If the lights arent new and you dont plan to take them out then yea I would see it better fit to just try to adjust the gearing with it on.

      In the back of the trunk Lexus provided the perfect screw driver the adjust the gears and should be the same amount On both screws as per the manual.Also both screws are vertical movements as per the manual

    You don't need to take the headlights off. You can use a phillips head screw driver, place it in the groove and mesh it with the teeth of the "dial". Or you can use a 8mm spanner wrench. A ratchet spanner preferably makes it easiest.
    Also don't wanna be nitpicky but the high beam is Halogen, and in your case it's converted to LED.

    • @Amercado7
      @Amercado7  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      AX53 I've tried that method before on my old lights but my dials were so siezed up i just tore up the plastic around it, so this is the easiest way i found to do it without messing it up and yes you're right about that

    • @AX-xi2pw
      @AX-xi2pw 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ah yea same on mine. You need just the right size screw driver for it to work. The 8mm ratchet spanner is probably the easiest method because every dial has an 8mm bolt head on the end. Gets in there easily. And I should also say, good video :) Thanks for explaining

    • @Amercado7
      @Amercado7  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      AX53 yea i tried but it didnt seem to move much so i was just like screw it then i found out the previous owner had put the hids in crooked so they didnt seat properly lol... and thank you! I got more content coming soon stay tuned

    That's pretty funny the thing that you took out is the automatic light adjustment. There are sensors throughout your car telling if it's level or not and it makes the light move.

    • @Amercado7
      @Amercado7  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thats what i thought it was my car would always adjust my lights way too high automatically so i just took it out

    • @marioavalos2831
      @marioavalos2831 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      There's actually Leveling Sensor under wheel well by your tire on each side that determines which way the light is pointing that's why when you start your car your lights go down and go up and automatically adjust every time you start the

    You don't have to remove that plastic thing if you want to adjust your high and low beams together. All it does is makes it so adjusting one adjusts the other the same way.

  • @muddro420

    Man, just use a phillips head vertically down on those gears. As you twist the driver, it will act like a pinion and turn that gear. Putting a wrench in there looks like such a pain in the ass. Plus, it looks like you don't need to remove that assembly to do any of this. Plus, I would have liked to see the proper alignment discussed though. You say not to blind anyone but that isn't very clear. The proper way to do this isn't the obvious "point them forward" way; you should orient the driver's light toward where the passenger light shines (and passenger light slightly to the right of forward) and angle them very slightly below straight forward. When you test it, you should be able to see everything in front of you easily, but this alignment keeps you from being a much of a menace to oncoming drivers. Hopefully this helps you in the future, and thanks for taking the time out to help others.

    • @Amercado7
      @Amercado7  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      muddro420 I tried to use a Phillips head with the old headlights i had on the car and the gears were seized up to the point where they barely spun thats why i used the wrench instead and for the alignment I searched alot in the IS forums and this was the best i was able to interpret from the information given. Thanks for the info

    No mention of the year or model of car, no mention of the type of light ( reflector vs projector, halogen vs hid vs led), dodgy explanation of the steps involved, a very shaky video and on top of all that an illegal hid conversion!

    • @Amercado7
      @Amercado7  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Every is300 in the states is the same, with reflector style headlights, and illegal hid conversion? All i did was put the factory HID lights into new headlight...
