    It's great how many effects are practical and not just a bunch of cgi. It really shows onscreen and adds to the overall disturbing feeling of the movie.
    And Olga still had to move around in pretty bizarre ways, despite having some effects help. That girl is flexible.

      @@hamhockbeans Art is a representation of reality: all points of view, feelings, experiences and thoughts represented for the "sensible world", in the beginning of the human history, paintings, or poems, stories have pictured people's lives, and the environment around them, cinema is a new way of representing this, feelings and sensations. I think this "l'art pour l'art" thought mess up people's minds, cuz art can be so many things, and permeates a lot of feelings of disgust, horror, guilt, joy, sadness, love. This film explores the atmosphere of fear human corruption, and the supernatural, it have so many themes, and expands on creativity

      @@hamhockbeans Except you totally missed the whole point, the artistic value isn’t just in a clip of gory or disgusting scenes, the value is in the whole product, those are parts of it, the sum of all the various elements in the film make it what it is and make the spectator feel.

    I don't get Ms Grifth's part what was wrong with her? And why did she stab herself in the neck? Is it becaue shouldn't couldn't handle being a witch and killing thos girls or?

    • @righttoleftrepeat
      @righttoleftrepeat 5 ปีที่แล้ว +17

      *SPOILER:* I think it was a mixture of guilt and fear. Ms. Griffith saw Susie from the balcony and scurried away so there’s a chance she sensed that Susie was something more than just another student. Also she was the only witch who refrained from choosing either Markos or Blanc so yeah, she probably already knew or felt the coven was following a false leader and was afraid it was all gonna end badly.

    • @misery441
      @misery441 5 ปีที่แล้ว +12

      Griffith's story is like a background subplot. She believes Markos will die, and that would be the end of the coven, so she's always sad and anxious. She claimed that everything was lost when they were voting, and then, when the matrons were discussing the possibility of the ritual's faillure and Markos' death, she decided to kill herself. Her story serves to emphasize the importance of the crisis the coven is suffering, and also to show that the matrons are not cartoonish villains, but very ambiguous and well dimensioned characters.

    • @righttoleftrepeat
      @righttoleftrepeat 5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Misery That sounds more convincing than my assumption.
      Is there a proper reason why Ms. Griffith seemed to avoid Susie? (Unless she was like that with every other student)

    • @misery441
      @misery441 5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@righttoleftrepeat Thanks ^^. Well, if I remember correctly, she only avoided Susie once (right after her audition). And well, I think we should remember that the whole crisis started the day before Susie's arrival, when the ritual to save Markos with Patricia failled. So maybe Griffith didn't wanted Susie to notice that there was a hard situation going on, or maybe she just didn't wanted Susie to see her crying (it would make sense too, since you can tell that Griffith is a shy person).
