It's great how many effects are practical and not just a bunch of cgi. It really shows onscreen and adds to the overall disturbing feeling of the movie. And Olga still had to move around in pretty bizarre ways, despite having some effects help. That girl is flexible.

Unfortunately because the Suspiria remake didn't do well at the box office (7 million dollars in comparison to the 20 million budget they had) the chances of us getting either a sequel or a remake of the entire trilogy might be impossible 😔
It sucks so much that this didnt receive the box office recognition it deserves. I think the fact this wasnt really promoted contributed to that. Plus, isnt this just an online release film on amazon? If it was on netflix, it might've had a better reach and impact there. :(
And that year the Oscar for Best Achievement in Makeup and Hairstyling went to... VICE, for making Christian Bale fatter and older. SUSPIRIA not even nominated.
@Ryan Akwar He wore a complementary fat suit. As it has been told in anecdotes by Greg Cannom, the makeup designer himself, the one in charge of Bale's look as Cheney. Research who.
...and this is why the Oscars are bullshit. I've boycotted them since 1991, I think. When Val Kilmer didn't get even a nod for becoming Jim Morrison in The Doors. I'm not even that big a fan of Kilmer's but it proved that it was a different kind of merit being recognized at the Oscars, and acting clearly isn't it.
I’m not one for remakes (especially something as iconic as the original Suspiria) or a Dakota fan. But the team who worked on this did SUCH an amazing job!
I don't get Ms Grifth's part what was wrong with her? And why did she stab herself in the neck? Is it becaue shouldn't couldn't handle being a witch and killing thos girls or?
*SPOILER:* I think it was a mixture of guilt and fear. Ms. Griffith saw Susie from the balcony and scurried away so there’s a chance she sensed that Susie was something more than just another student. Also she was the only witch who refrained from choosing either Markos or Blanc so yeah, she probably already knew or felt the coven was following a false leader and was afraid it was all gonna end badly.
Griffith's story is like a background subplot. She believes Markos will die, and that would be the end of the coven, so she's always sad and anxious. She claimed that everything was lost when they were voting, and then, when the matrons were discussing the possibility of the ritual's faillure and Markos' death, she decided to kill herself. Her story serves to emphasize the importance of the crisis the coven is suffering, and also to show that the matrons are not cartoonish villains, but very ambiguous and well dimensioned characters.
Misery That sounds more convincing than my assumption. Is there a proper reason why Ms. Griffith seemed to avoid Susie? (Unless she was like that with every other student)
@@righttoleftrepeat Thanks ^^. Well, if I remember correctly, she only avoided Susie once (right after her audition). And well, I think we should remember that the whole crisis started the day before Susie's arrival, when the ritual to save Markos with Patricia failled. So maybe Griffith didn't wanted Susie to notice that there was a hard situation going on, or maybe she just didn't wanted Susie to see her crying (it would make sense too, since you can tell that Griffith is a shy person).
I wish I had never seen what was really there. I was hoping it was just her rib cage or something more poetic and not a literal slap in your face of here’s a physical representation of an orifice that represents motherhood, like yep sure, got there on my own without the ghoulish overkill, tyvm 😐
