6 Different Scams on Animal Jam That You Need to Watch Out For! | Bandits Animal Jam

- Here are six common scams in Animal Jam (and I know there’s more, and I will make a part two)
(if it’s too good to be true, don’t trust it!)
🌀 The add and then take away scam
-This scam is when a jammer will add a item, and the say something like, “my inventory is full” or “your over let me add” or something like that. The jammer will then remove the item you originally wanted and make it look like it’s still there, because your just so excited to get the trade you aren’t worried to check. Then, when you accept they get all your good items and you get the trash extra items they added.
🌀 The shop scam
-This scam can be done in many different ways, but this one is where a jammer will say something like, “if you buy I’ll gift you” or something along the lines of that. The jammer will probably have really expensive stuff in their shop, or maybe just useless items that aren’t worth it. Don’t buy the stuff though, because they usually only want sapphires or gems from you. They will probably lock you out, or give you a bad item.
🌀 Changing an item for you
-If a jammer says they can “hack” or “change” an item for you, immediately block and report them. They are scamming, and though they may actually be a hacker that CAN change the item, they are going against Animal Jam rules and will only get you and themselves banned from Animal Jam. They will ask for an item that you would like you to change, and if you give it to them, they are probably not going to give it back. Don’t trust people who claim they can get you hacked or even really rare items for free
🌀 You go first trade
-When you trade a lot, you tend to figure out what looks like a scam and what seems fair. But the struggle is when you do a big trade. When a jammer will trade you items and sapphires for one big item of yours. It’s kind of hard to decide who will go first, because you never know if they will scam you. If you are the one who has to go first, be really careful what you do. If they are too scared to go first, maybe get friends to come or something to show you are trust worthy, or maybe stay away from these kind of trades. They may trade you the items, but never give you the sapphires.
🌀The in stores scam
-Most of the time these days jammers never worry about what is new in the jam mart. A jammer may think that an item that just came back into stores is maybe cool or unreleased, or still rare. Jammers may sell them for way too much without context or have them in trade. If you see a weird item you have never seen before, ask around or search up where it may have came from before trading a ton for it, because it happened to me once when a jammer had a giant fennec fox plushie that came out at the summer carnival. She asked if I wanted to offer because it was on my wishlist. I asked her what it was worth, and she said it was an old promo gift almost worth forest, and I really wanted it but I wasn’t gonna trade my forest. So I offered some random decent items and she accepted and I got the plush. I was so excited until my friend tells me that these cute plushies came out. Man was I mad
🌀 TRUST TRADES
-This is the most popular scam almost of all time, and a scam that goes back to beta testing. A jammer will say that they are doing a giveaway, and a ton of people will go. The jammer will usually make up a silly excuse as to why they are doing trust, or just say this is a trust trade thing. Never ever are they true, so never trust a jammer. They may seem legit or seem like they are trustworthy, but trust me they aren’t ever gonna give you the item they have. They may have a main account at the giveaway or spare who is trying to make you fall for it. If someone just happens to say, “oh they gave back my FOREST GAUNTLETS” they are probably lying. They may give back, but they are luring in the best offer to get you to trust them. Don’t get greedy, because they will get you

I was actually at a giveaway once. The host said that you had to trade whatever items you liked to them and they would give them back along with another good item, and the better you trade the better item you get. The said it was for a quitting video proof. And I did believe them. I started off with a few small items and they actually gave them back to me along with another item of their own. Everyone else got their items back too. I traded them again and they didn't give back my items for a few minutes. Later, finally, they trade dthem back to me. I got a rainbow spiked collar from them! Another person that was there didn't get their items back though. The host told me that they had scanned their friend and was getting payback.
Oh my goodness, that’s so mean yet that’s so nice that you got a rainbow spike! I actually saw someone do that, and say their main account was this person who scammed them. Everyone reported, because they had scammed a crystal dance floor from someone, and the jammer gave it back to them but wanted everyone to report the scammer because apparently they scammed a rooster from him. Anyways, scammers don’t deserve their items and I’m glad she got the stuff back but still don’t scam 😂

I’m pretty sure this was three days before I got hacked because it was when I was secretly on animal jam on my tablet (I’m only allowed to use ibisPaint and TH-cam on there) until 7 in the morning 🤣 I was sent to bed at about 10 and was playing aj for 9 hours straight 🫢😁😊 Plus it was a Monday morning when I got hacked. I remember getting on and looking at my outfit and I’m like, ‘where the hell is my double tail and rainbow spike and stuff?’ And I checked thru my inventory and I broke down in tears. I felt like quitting and throwing my phone SO BADLY that day.

AWWW I’m so sorry for you guys! Same happened I got scammed for my teal forest boots and blackout spiked collar 😭 I also remember getting scammed with the take away scam and I lost my train set, gazebo, camping tent, snow machine, some good leilani items and a really good masterpiece that I JUST GOT 😭 Luckily, I have been able to get most of it back but I’m still really sad about the forest and blackout

Aww :( my sister (This is really a scam) and I went to a giveaway for Galaxy wings. My sis apparently "Won" so then she traded her, Accepted and then When it was at the last "stage" thingy, They declined. After that they locked their den. Anyways thank you so much for this video! It helps so many players!! :D
Agh yeah! I hate when they do those. I think I’ve gotten scammed in every way possible. Hopefully, this will teach them a lesson
i was at a giveaway on classic recently and the host was declining trades and stuff and then flat out said “whoever gifts the best” and literally everyone started screaming scammer and then the host literally logged on and off multiple times making it seem like they had bad internet and then eventually locked us all out of the den
as far as i know they weren’t successful in taking anything
the shop scam however has ALWAYS been suspicious to me esp when they bring play wild sapphires into the picture

Once I almost got scammed by the add then remove scam. I was in the fox den trading for a glider and I put some good items for it. Good thing I noticed they removed the glider!

Nice! But the one in the thumbnail reminds me of when I got scammed because of a clever scammer who learned NEW scamming tricks.
Right? I got scammed out of my non-token fennec fox and something else because of this is was SO MAD because I believed the jammer, they were so nice to me 😢 I’m sorry you were scammed!

The 6th one happened to me :( so there was a group of friends pretending not to know eachother and I thought it was sketchy at first but then one of them told me they would give me replacement items if I got scammed. I STILL wasn’t sure so then as an “experiment” they said they would give their bowtie to make me wanna do it, so I finally gave in, then just as expected, they unbuddied me and locked me out.
I lost my jam forests, double tail, Outback scarf, horned pilot helmet and more..I took a break for awhile but then came back and I’m trying to trade up again ❤

I know how you feel 😭 I got scammed by a girl and her spare, and she gave it to the spare and said “YOU WIN” and I said can I just have it because she said she didn’t want it so she made me trade for it and she gave it back to the owner. I trusted her and gave the owner my put a m scarf and fennec fox and I was DEVASTATED 😭
The first one happended to me I lost galaxy wings purple forest designer shawl galaxy wings and more- yeah wasn’t a good day for me lol
And the end one also happened to me lost ALL THE RARES I GAINED BACK!

I got scammed by the first one, losing all of my rares that I had worked for over a year on. I ended up quitting and giving my account to my cousin (which had a ton of animals and dens on) and decided to start again. I now know to ALWAYS check what I'm trading, and you should too, it's very easy to get scammed by this!!

once i got my yellow firefly friend scammed, i went to a blackout spiked collar 'giveaway' and i met two other people there. i was trading back and forth my firefly to one of the girls. i buddied her and then the host asked her to give them the firefly or else she would be kicked out of the giveaway. the girl jam-a-grammed me asking something along the lines of "should i give them the firefly? i dont want to be kicked out but i dont want you to get scammed" and i responded "please dont give them it, i will give you a pet" and so she was unsure of what to do and ended up giving them the firefly and then we all got locked out. i was really sad and the girls kept apologizing, and the girl who gave the host the firefly gave me some random clothes. in the end, i learned that i shouldnt trade my really good items just for some random giveaway and to strangers i just met
This happened to me too! With my fennec fox and Outback scarf :( it was for forest and they had a spare that got forest, and then she was like actually you can have it back but I was so desperate I learned never to be greedy about stuff like that 😭 I’m sorry you were scammed! I know how you feel

im sorry if im late here saying this, but is kinda a tricky scam for me, once i was to an shappire drop then the owner came and said ''buddy me everyone!'' or smt then the owner said ''bye rats!!'' to some innocent artic wolves! and then they were like keep going on the animal customize thingy and all jammers thought it was a scam bc some of them even said ''im sure she just goes on the customize animal thingy bc she thinks of more scams and tricks!'' another jammers said ''it takes to much to press on a shappire potion!!! its a trick!!!'' then she just went away somewhere! then i think she came back and said ''could somebody buy me a poodle skirt?'' one jammer said ''thats not fair! you said you will activate a shappire drop on!!! and now you even want us to buy smt!'' then SHE DID THIS AGAIN!!! and i think some minutes later she just LOCKED US ALL OUT i dont remember her username. if you see jammers that do this tricks and scams to you report and block them! ty for looking at my comment :))))🙂🙂🙂

I got scammed by flash, u put the pool item on trd ( the better the item the higher percentage that u will win) then u accept, they accept too, it goes to Gothenburg blue screen u all know then (here comes the worst part) then u click accept AND AS FAST AS U CAN BEFORE THEY ACCEPT TOO CLICK CANCEL and they will try to accept I traded my pets my first beloved glider all my mp and good clothing away Bc they tried to click accept as fast as possible on that turn..
Oh my goodness I know what you mean! I’m so sorry, that happened to my best friend! She was being mean to this new jammer that’s was her buddy, and he said troll or treat me! And so my friend added a few really good items (her teal forest gauntlets, light up shoes, tail and wings) and then clicked accept, but when she was supposed to cancel she accidentally hit accept because she was distracted, and gave the stuff to the new jammer. Lucky for her, he was real nice and gave it back to her because she said it was a mistake. So she got her stuff back, but it shows not to taunt people. I was with her when it happened, so I felt really bad for distracting her by talking. 😭 poor new jammer, I gifted him afterwards because those were rare items he had with him. And I’m sorry you were scammed! Sorry for the long comment too 😂

Yup this happened to me too (years back) when we had the old trading pop up!! I lost my blackout and green myth. They switched their black tip to a bone tail
I scammed alot XDD i also got glitter horns from a scam but what who i scammed was my buddy so my other buddies were with me so the buddy i scammed said "i just got scammed" i was worried i traded fast i have her the giant German shepherd plushie she always wanted and some potions and chlothing i didnt want i felf bad 💔 but still ..i never stopped

Yep. I hate when people do that because there is usually a spare or main, that makes it look real. The first time, I fell for it 😭
I asked to swap something once... but I promise I wasn't trying to scam, I just ended up not wanting to trd the item. Sadly I couldn't swap the item, but I still hv no regrets now that I look back at it. And besides, didnt really use the item, so I dont really care that I traded the item
Aw one time someone asked me try something on with my outfit (i have no clue why) and it wasn’t that rare but like they left and never came back and then when I tried to trade them they always declined. Maybe they wanted me to have it? I don’t know 😂
@@banditsanimaljam mabye, or mabye they decided they didn't want the item. either way, people change there mind, it's when they are trying to take advantage of you is where you need to be careful. On one hand, mabye they dont want to trade that item, on the other hand they try to over sell a bad item to get a good item just because they dont want to actually trade there good item. It's all about context in the end!
Edit: also I ask people to model there clothing items too, mostly with sets. I like to see what the completed set looks like and what effect it has when completed. So that could be another reason lol

I got my acc hacked by some person named whyme013 on ajpw, my account user is Cøtton2. I had a whiteout and alot more rares that I spent hours on, but I dont need to worry because its just a game and its not a big deal. I can always make another account. Stay safe out there and dont let anyone hack of try and scam you! -♥︎
They have fully taken over my account. I know that because its always on 24/7 and im the only one that should be accessible to the account.

Arctic foxes used to be in stores, but they aren’t anymore. I think they were in a bun else this Christmas…? Maybe when they come back you can get one!
Also people have the name clever fox on their animal that means they bought the fox bundle a REALLY long time ago! Because when you get a bundle with a animal it names the animal for you like “Icy arctic wolf” or “Clever Fox”. Maybe if a fox bundle comes out again that’s how you’ll get it :)
