Yeah is obvious her last name is Chinese, and chinese Cambodians do not pronounce the R sound when they speak khmer. The original Khmer language and people pronounces the refrained Rolled R sound similar like khmer surin people. That how we know we can tell. Even khmer people from western countries can tell also lol I will say I am kinda disappointed that Cambodian people today they do not preserve the original Khmer accent and speech well. They need to fix their education system

I left Kampong Som back in summer of 1979 by boat, ended up in Philippines island later, and came to the US 1981. I was a first group from Phnom Penh to work at the seaport as a cargo controller from the ship to the warehouses. I worked with Russian and Vietnamese crews back then. Most of the ships were from the international humanitarian aids for Cambodia after Pol Pot was overthrown. The city was ruined like a ghost town. I had a chance to visit the town a few years ago and found a few old friends there. Some of them are already dead. I still have vivid memories about the town!

You speak Khmer very well. How long have you lived in Switzerland? Why did you pick Switzerland? You’re lucky you still have your old home back. We lost our house in Phnom Penh during the pol pot regime. It’s still there near the Olympic market, but people took it over and have lived there ever since.
