- We've started moving into our new Fleetwood Bounder 36E Class A Motorhome RV, and the first step is to decorate and make the space work for our family of five for full time living. We put up wallpaper in the bedroom, are having curtains made with a fabric we love, and (most importantly) we're figuring out how to get family photos up on the walls. No on the microwave pics. Yes to fridge pics (it is a must). No to wallpaper on door. Yes to memory wall in kitchen with the wallpaper backing. Yes to using daughter plaque for tile in bathroom. Yes to using picture that came with RV in bathroom. Thanks for show that valances can be removed. My husband and I took ours down today as a gift for me! It really gave our RV a new breath of fresh air!

You could put dry erase contact paper on door in hallway with a two inch trim of chalkboard contact paper. Would be good place to leave notes.

Great video! I have done three up grades to my 2017 GT XL 369. (1) steering stabilizer (2) the "Cheap handling fix" as seen on youtube and (3) Timbren Springs front and back suspension. A lot better handling and control!!! For your inside mods , each to your own. Do what you like, it's your home!
I've seen a lot of conflicting reports on the CHF. A lot of armchair engineers worry that changing the bolt holes will add extra stress to the bar or connected parts, but then again nobody has shown any damage from it. It almost seems too easy to be true...
Some where on you tube a person contacted Ford eng. and was told the fix was OK ???? Hope so . Have not had any troubles yet.
Less magnets. Choose a plain complimentary paper for the doors in the bedroom. Bathroom door put up a white board for scheduling, etc. Definitely door paper under the feature wall. Happy Mother’s Day! Keep up the great work!

Like the wallpaper behind the bed. I would leave the doors the way they are. Maybe the same wallpaper on one wall in the bathroom since it’s off your bedroom.

Y’all are so sweet. You always ask us what we like and what we think. So thoughtful! I think doing that circular pattern on the one door to the bathroom would be beautiful. Really add an accent that matches the bed wall. It would look great. I think in the living area I would use a different pattern but with the same colors. But it’s your home...what you decide & what you like is all that matters. Can’t wait to see what y’all decided.

I think, yes, you could do wall paper in the bathroom doors (2) and the other door, but maybe not the same pattern, instead you could do like a light wood color or pattern. Then Inside the bathroom use the same as the headboard.

I wouldn’t put that wallpaper on the doors. It would be a little to much of that pattern in the bedroom! It is so weird talking to you and knowing that you will respond. You guys are one of the youtubers that I feel care about their subscribers.

Do the feature wall with the wall paper. I also think the door panels in the hallway would be great as blackboards. You could paint it or use stick on blackboard wall paper..

Five2Go just had a thought....maybe a solid color paper in a light/med blue for the bedroom doors. Brighten it up, matches the headboard. Win win and not too busy
I agree fully on the magnetic fridge! It was a must when we bought our new fancy stainless steel fridge. Used a magnet to test it before buying.
Could you possibly mount with heavy duty Command strips a magnetic sheet of metal on the toilet room door? You would still have the photos but not the busyness in view all the time.
Peel & stick it the best to use, much less weight & less skill needed to install!

I definitely think you should go with the wallpaper on the gallery wall. Great choice; it's a really fun pattern! It will add a lot of personality there without being "too much". I agree with others that it will probably be too busy putting it on the doors. An accent wall here and there only is the best way to go for sure! I'm a fan of the photo tiles on the microwave! They'll make you smile at your memories every time you warm something up! I love your videos because you're so relatable:) Recently, I really liked Brian’s journey to pick up the new RV. It was interesting to see how the country looked during this weird time (because of the coronavirus) and it was so sweet to see Erin and the kids welcome him home.

The wall behind the door. Doors are wood, walls get wallpaper. It brightens the room without being too much.
But that panel in the hallway. That hallway is dark, it would brighten that up.
Lay the wallpaper on the table and put the pictures on it. I think you will find the combination too busy.
And when I went shopping for my new fridge, I brought one of my heavier magnets. If it didn't stay up, that fridge went in the NOPE pile. I ended up getting white, not only was it cheaper, it actually goes better in my kitchen.
We're way too excited about the magnetic fridge, haha! Good idea for testing out the pictures over the wallpaper - it might be busy depending on what frames we end up with.

Vermont Country Stores bought out Country Curtains. Many are thermal & they have cafe curtains if you want to change them out later.
What about putting up clear lucite on your feature wall and do a crazy collage of family memories?

Five2Go use a post it glue stick to adhere the pictures to the wall (you can remove later or switch around) & cover with a clear lucite sheet you use heavy duty Velcro to adhere it to the sides of the rv. JoAnn’s or Hobby Lobby sell Velcro in various widths. You could use your square mini photos to create a frame and hide the Velcro tape. It seemed right up your alley Erin! 😊

Very nice. In the bedroom, I would not wallpaper the doors because inevitably it would start peeling off as it ages - the wood is quite beautiful. To brighten up the space if that’s what you’re looking for, I would suggest white bedding with some texture. Easy to wash if it gets dirty and looks crisp and clean and modern. The door in the hallway with the large flat/square area would be a cool place to hang an art poster of some type - maybe enlarge a great vacation photo or a collage of photos that can be changed. Have fun!

Remember when you bought it, it was raining and when you put the slides back in the wall behind the drivers seat was wet. Something to think about on your feature wall when considering wallpaper and family pics. Love the videos.
Good point! We haven't done anything there yet but that's definitely something to keep in mind. Everything may have to be behind glass instead of on canvas.
Do like the fridge that you can put magnets on!! That's the one thing that I really miss in our camper. Only can put magnets on the stove hood!!! I like the idea of the wallpaper on the doors, but I wouldn't use to much of the pattern you have on the headboard, it could get too busy if you put it on to much of the doors. Maybe a solid light blue, or color from the paper you already have up. Love your videos, and taking those valances off was amazing how much the space opened up!! Looking forward to seeing more of what you do inside the motorhome.

I wouldn't put the wallpaper on the master bath door, but maybe on the wall behind it when it is open. Then it would be a splash of extra color when the bathroom door is closed. It would also be really nice on the galley wall! Enjoy!

I think it might get too busy in the bedroom with the circles all over. The other wall sounds nice, memory wall or both memory and future moves when you get back on the road.
That's what we're thinking so we'll probably hang some up with tape just to see.
I agree, I really like idea of doing the memory wall with it. I wasn’t a fan of it but as time went on I like it now...especially since it isn’t grey (my iPad gives it that look). Just because you have it doesn’t mean you need to use it. Possibly in the/a bathroom, but definitely not those nice doors!
For the door, why not, like airliner bathroom latch? Even get the occupied sign.
It'll probably end up being something similar. We googled around a little bit the other day and found some recessed spin-style latches but wanted to see if anyone had actually used anything like that in a residential setting. They're pretty common for pocket doors but there aren't as many options for hinged doors for some reason.
@@Five2Go We have one on our bathroom pocket door in our home. Easy to spin and lock as well as unlock.
The wallpaper looks GREAT on the headboard! I know it’s a lot of wood in the bedroom, but if you’re not planning to paint I think you should just “love the wood you’re with” rather than try to cover it. Since it’s a small home, I would just keep the wallpaper pattern in the bedroom to help define it as a separate space. If you’re into magnets I think there’s magnetic paint that could be used in the hallway, etc.
I think we're returning the two rolls we didn't use and we'll just live with things as-is for a while and see if it bothers us once we're in it full time. After getting curtains and linens in there it's helping "fight" the wood quite a bit!

I think the bedroom needs some color. What color comforter are you going to choose?
The curtains for bedroom could be a little brighter as far as color.
I dont want to be too critical as I may have different taste.

Agreed. It is pretty cabinetry. The wall paper is a great complement to the cabinetry and the upholstery. Make the bed before you add any more wallpaper. It is a great accent. I am not sure if I would attack the doors.

We went with the ready buddy. It was less expensive and have had it for a long time. Just had to buy the baseplate when we changed cars. Have not had any problems. ❤️❤️

Above the wood an accent wall of tile or the paper is great. With the kids the tile wold be better.
A low profile door knob will still stick out. A grab latch instead of the doorknob would be almost flush mounted. You can get those at any Home Depot or Loews etc...
A grab latch? Is that similar to what you see on pocket doors? We weren't able to find anything at Lowe's but have seen a couple options online that are basically flush-mount or inset a bit. We're just worried about the kids being able to manipulate it and get into the bathroom.

I like the wallpaper behind the bed but would leave it just there. I wouldn't do the doors. I like the microwave magnets. I am still trying to get used to not having the manufactured window shades and valances in place. I guess when you put up drapes it will be easier to make an opinion. I just ran across y'all. I will subscribe and do some binge-watching. We have an Itasca Class A. I loved the decor and we have only changed one picture since we purchased it 8 yrs ago. We are not full time so it would be different if we were full timers! Now, Magnets on the fridge. We always had a fridge with magnets. We got one of the stainless that magnets will not stick to about 4 yrs ago. I love it!!! It really cuts the eye clutter in the kitchen. Our fridge sits right across from the end of the peninsula counter that is a "catch all" . Too much eye clutter in one spot. LOL Magnets on the microwave, I say No. It did look a little busy. Wallpaper? I love the pattern. It does brighten up the room. I would add to the bathroom and the feature wall in the dinette space and maybe the smaller door and wall. not the bathroom door. I haven't seen the front part of the rig, so don't know if there is room there to add it.
Your floor plan is very similar to ours. Our hall is wider and our bath and laundry is reversed from yours. Our kitchen & dinette is on the drivers side also. Sofa is in a slide from the mid entry door to the passenger seat. The whole drivers side is a slide down to the master bath. Maybe that's why our hall is wider. Yours seen to be what ours id when the slides are closed. For the knob, try MyKnobs.com and search low profile. I think a lever type knob may work and it isn't a huge knob that might grab you. You may get caught on it coming from the bedroom though. Not sure the kids could work a pocket door type latch. Our smaller grandkids don't usually close the door when we have them.

Thanks Donna! We're stopping with the headboard for now until we spend more time in it and see if any of those other areas need any work. Since we're not painting it's easy enough to do things as we go (and undo them if necessary).

The magnets around the m/w are fantastic. And if you enjoy them, keep on with them. Plus, you can easily change them out. Go seasonal photos, and celebrate birthday months with that family member's pics around it... (FWIW: we had a non-magnetic SS fridge - house - front and neither of us were happy w/that - we made sure our next fridge was magnetic)
No magnets on microwave, yes paper on feature wall, no on doors, and what about a deadbolt to replace the doorknob? Love the paper above the bed! Great taste erin!❤❤ oh and line the edge of the feature wall with the tile pics maybe. Cause I love the tiles just not on the microwave. But also yall live there so just do what you love :-)
A deadbolt instead of a doorknob... Hmm... That's an interesting idea, though I'm not sure how well that would work because I think you'd have to have the lock on both sides so you could keep the door closed?

If you wallpaper those doors, then your curtains and bedspread should be solid. Pretty print. I would wallpaper that panel on that bathroom door instead. As far as your galley wall, will the paper conflict w your curtains? Maybe get a neutral shiplap type wallpaper for that galley wall? I think the pics on your microwave look cluttered. But this is your rig filled w your beautiful family. Do what makes you happy and brings you joy.

I love the wood! It’s not that ugly 50’s off white/ yellow. I vote don’t wallpaper the doors or panels but yes on the feature wall. I don’t like all the magnets on the microwave face; too busy. But I do love her watercolor picture in the bathroom. If it were me, in the bedroom I would do roller room darkening shades with a flowy curtain over top so in daytime you could roll it up and let the sun come in and the curtains would cover the ugly room darkening shades when they are down..❤️🇺🇸🦠😷🧚🏻♀️💋

Google "low profile interior door knobs" you will get many ideas. For "the wall" where the slide out is I suggest a thin sheet of plexiglass with four snaps or mirror retainers. You can place the pictures the way you want and every so often change them out. Someday hope to meet you all on the road.

Personal opinion. The side of the microwave with the micro pictures. The wallpaper on the picture wall by the table.
I would leave the main bathroom door alone. Too much of the same wallpaper in a small space may be too much since it's a busy wallpaper. It is pretty.
I would put up wallpaper on the big wall in the main bathroom.
On the inset half bath room door, I have a suggestion but I don't know if I can explain it well enough to make sense. Lol. So bear with me for a moment.
Get a piece of plywood or canvas the size of the insert area. Paint it with chalkboard paint. After dty, you could use the 3m brand removable hook backing strips to put it in that spot so on rainy days the kids have a place to use chalk to color. I hope I made enough sense that you get my suggestion.
Have you looked at a lever handle for the hall bathroom door?

Thanks Paula! That's a fun idea for the door! As for the handle - a lever might stick out less but it's still going to catch on us as we walk by. We really want to find something that's flush or inset so it's just gone altogether.

I personally wouldn’t wallpaper the doors or the wall. But that’s my opinion and I won’t be living in it. I love the wood - warm and homey. I’d add curtains , accent pillows, pictures, anything that isn’t permanent. Even if you think you’ll keep the RV, you never know when you might need to sell it and a permanent change would be your taste only and not neutral. But like I said, you’ll be the ones living in it and you should decorate how you want and love it!
That's 100% why we're not doing anything permanent. That and we kinda suck at painting! 😜
I think paper the walls/doors in bedroom but a plain paper that contrasts with your feature paper, and yes use the feature paper on the picture wall, use pictures only on the side of the micro and perhaps a stick in chalk board on the flat door 😁 good luck I look forward following your renovations ✅✅✅✅✅✅✅ ticking off all the jobs

I usually make my RV curtains from sheets or tablecloths. I double them to block out a little more heat and light (and so they're pretty on both sides). It's cost effective and you can throw them in the washer when they inevitably get dirty. I like the wallpaper but it might get to be too much if you put it too many places, and it might take the attention away from your photos.
Good tip with the curtains! We're thinking that wallpaper pattern will probably be too much on the doors but would love to use it in a couple other little places to tie the rooms together.
Roller shades, to me, still have a bit of a stigma from my childhood. I just remember how easy they were to be sprung so they no longer roll up. I think if you can find or make some blackout curtains it's a better way to go.
That's another reason we didn't want to do roller shades - the kids would destroy them pretty quickly! 😜
I would use the decorative wallpaper on the walls in the bedroom and a solid light color wall paper that matches to brighten up the doors.

I like the wallpaper behind the bed. My opinion is not the doors. I think it would be too busy. However, I would do just what you want. It's hard getting everyones opinions because we all like different things. If you like it, go with it. You can always change it. Enjoyed your video.

I think wallpaper on the doors would be a little busy. I like the pictures on the microwave. You can never show off your family too much! My wife and I just bought a new camper and we're ready to hit the road! Safe and happy travels!

I personally think the magnets are a bit much on the microwave, but with kids having their art work and pictures on the fridge is wonderful. I have so many of grandkids on mine!

I love the bedroom wall and I think the memory wall is a great idea. I read someone saying to put a white board in the hallway I think that’s great. How about pictures on the bathroom door you could hand with command strips. Great watch your family

I think the wallpaper would be too much on the doors. I'd also be worried about it coming off because it's such a high traffic area! You have to touch it so much it might come off. I do like it behind the bed!
You're right, it's probably way too much for the doors. There's literally wood in every direction though so it feels like being in a box when you close the doors! 😂

Yeah, it's a little busy, but it's your home and it makes things look more personalized. Glad you decided against those green curtains - they were pretty but I think that pattern would wear on me. Cute wall paper. Maybe do your feature wall in the living area, but no more of it in the bedroom. You could pull one of the colors from it to do a solid color, or a subtle pattern in whatever color you pick, on the bedroom doors. That would add some interest to it without taking away from your headboard.
I absolutely love all your windows. It's going to look so cute with curtains! Honestly, it's what you like that matters. I'm sure it will all look great when you are done.

Waverly at a sewing shop has a great selection of proper texture like you would like. And Brocade material is a great choice of thickness but would still have movement. I like the little magnets all around as it has a fun look.

Just google "low profile door knob: lots of choices. Don't go to crazy with that wallpaper, it's a very busy pattern in easy colors. Do they make a coordinating pattern?
We've looked for those knobs on google already but wanted to see if anyone had any experience with them. There are a lot of them made for pocket doors but not as many for hinged doors, and we need to make sure the kids can operate it easily too. 👍👍

Paint is just too much of a permanent change for us. We've done it in every house (and in almost every room) we've owned but that's such an easier process with big flat walls and some trimming around edges. These cabinets would be a nightmare!

I’d say leave the bedroom with the circles as you have then - would too busy on the doors. I like the wood - it’s very classy and substantial looking. But if you hate it, then maybe get a solid color complimentary color or something very very subtle like a shadow stripe. You could use your circle wall paper on the toilet wall in the master bath, or as others suggest in the hall bath.
Leave the feature wall with the writer as is or change color to compliment your room curtains when you have them.
No to the kitschy magnets on the microwave - cluttered and, as mentioned, they will get hunky from cooking on below.
If you want to do something with the hall bath door panel, what about a magnetic chalkboard or whiteboard feature? You could paint it any color and then place the little trip magnets around perimeter as a border. Then if the material is a chalkboard or whiteboard, you could also use it for quick notes, to do lists, to gets, etc. - very functional with kids.

Love the little photo tiles fill it all up more the merrier! GO DISNEY!! Fill it up can never have enough Disney stuff! I like the accent wall idea with the photos, I personally would not put it on the doors but that is just me I would think it would get a lot of extra use and maybe not hold up well. The doors were just a random thought while filming and 100% of the comments on here have been "no" to the doors too! It would probably be way too much, we agree.

I find solid mixed with patterns look better, but that's just a matter of personal taste. Blue is pretty touch to match so if you do look for a solid roll take a piece of the pattern with you.
Luckily there are 3 or 4 blues in that wallpaper so we don't have to be exact!
I like the madnets on the microwave, on the front, completely covered. I like the wallpaper headboard but not on the doors. I think it might be too busy. Have you considered something like a photo montage? You proposed that for the wall next to the dinette and perhaps it could work on the doors. I must admit, I was worried when you took the valences down but I'm liking the curtain idea.
The curtains are looking so much better! Our friend just finished them up this morning so they'll be in our next episode I think 👍😆👍
Hello and happy travels. Excited for you and all your upgrades. Caution, if you do the doors, you might need to also do the side wall around the bed by the window. I know you have the curtains there, but on the headboard, then the doors it might look like you forgot the side??? Just something to think about. You could tape the top - temporary - of the paper on the door, to get a feel of " is it too much " less work if you don't like it.
Not a single person was positive about the doors, and we were just throwing it out there anyway so I think we've squashed that idea at this point! 😂 There's a ton of wood in the bedroom, but now that we have the headboard done and are seeing it with curtains and bed linens it's getting better. We'll probably roll with it as-is and do something later if we can't stand it once we're in it full time.

Regarding the interior:
Just another option for those redecorating an RV & also feel the standard Rv coverings are bulky & hinder natural light.
Ikea has some bamboo roller shades that are inexpensive & easily customizable with a black out option for those that can't sew. I'm absolutely useless with a sewing machine. Yes i know, you can hem with an iron but that works better with pants vs curtains that are at eye level bc imo they lay funny. I like the magnets but maybe limit them to the refrigerator. Adding wedding & family photos lends itself to the idea of an RV being/feeling home/homey. Lovely wall paper choice but I'd limit it to the headboard & maybe just finish off the slide out to include around the windows. Even if you add photos to the top it would be cute to enclose the headboard area. The doors would make the room visually smaller & maybe even busy.
I agree with the others that have responded, I think if you put that wallpaper on the doors the room will become too busy! Also, with any wallpaper, even peal and stick, that could damage the finish on the wood doors! Especially when removing it.
We've seen peel and stick paper that damages wood before. This stuff barely holds on, it's almost like it's static-cling instead of adhesive. We will definitely test it out if we want to use it on wood though!

1) use solid color of tiles between your pictures so your pics stand out, more visually appealing...2) try framing pieces of your wall paper in squared picture frames then hang with pointed end of the frame upwards, maybe 3 frames vertically so it would look like art work....3) exchange the gray picture with abstract color, ie family could do brush strokes of color on inexpensive canvas, if you don't like it you can always paint over it & try something different it could be fun....
That big gray photo in the frame is definitely coming down - that's where the family photos are going. We're trying to figure out whether or not to put wallpaper up there first or just leave the wall alone.
@@Five2Go the bold print of the wall paper may take away from your photos, if you have some paper, put it up with some low tack tape then place the framed photo & see how you like it

I like the wood in the RV
But suggests to take those pics off microwave some how try to put them in bedroom. Also the wallpaper should not go on the doors to much. Try not to fill up every wall. We have a 2000 Dutchstar I want to change my cabinets🤔🤔so what should I do.
Cabinets are tough. The only real option is to paint, unless they're pretty plain and square then contact paper might work. We just really don't have the patience for sanding and prepping before painting, and the cabinets in this rig have all sorts of details and bevels that it would never come out right.
How about on the inset wall in the hallway put a metallic facing to put your picture tiles on it.
A few of y'all have said to do that - that's a really cool idea!
Not really what we think, it’s more important as to what you like, do your own thing, it’s your home!
We'll ultimately do what we like because we'll have to look at it all day, but we get some great ideas and things we've never thought of before from y'all sometimes!
