I do love the candy novas and nextra range. Especially the models where it slowly speeds up after the 400rpm hold then when it gets to 800rpm it shoots up fast to 1000rpm. Was my fav childhood memory of them. See folks- I did love candy hoover at one point 🤪😂
Find it quite odd how this has a louder (higher pitched) motor compared to the other 1400 nextras from this era, eg. HNL3146. The quieter (lower pitched) motor was also used in 1600 models at the time...
FINALLY someone else noticed the different motor sounds. The lower pitched one is so nostalgic to me. I think all Candy/Hoover's from this era at 1500/1600 have the lower pitched motor, with some 1400 models like the early Nextra HNL3146 as you pointed out also having it. Would love to get one of those in good condition, since I only recently realised what machines have the higher and lower pitched motors. My nana had a Candy Autosprint CNA166 (some videos of it) and I had a Candy Sprintplus CNA156 (no videos of it). My life would be complete hearing that motor sound in person again.
You're looking at the wrong part of the s/n, it's actually the 4 digits before the final 4 digits, in YYWW form. Here, it's 0725 - 2007 week 25 - June 2007 :)

The very last decent candy hoover I’d say

@@WashLover Oh yeah I'm absolutely OBSESSED with motor sounds, I catch absolutely everything and anything when it comes to that :)
The 2004/5 nextra the hnl3146 had the 1600 motor
The 4 digits before the final 4 digits of the serial number are 0725 - Therefore this was made in June 2007 (week 25)
