In the sun-drenched streets of Adelaide, a battle rages. On one side, frustrated citizens and tidy-minded councils see graffiti as a scourge, a vandal's playground. On the other, passionate artists and a growing youth movement consider it a vital art form, a way to reclaim public spaces and speak truth to power.
But is all graffiti created equal? We'll explore the spectrum, from hastily scrawled tags to breathtaking large-scale murals. Does artistic merit change whether a work is vandalism or art?
Join us on a wild ride through Adelaide's laneways and back alleys, where we'll meet larger-than-life characters, uncover hidden masterpieces, and ask the question: can a city truly have a soul without a splash of rebellion on its walls?

It is a new form of art, 50 years old (give or take). New compared with other platforms that go back 1000’s of years. The question of is it art or not can not be answered simply, you will get the Piccaso’s and the Dali’s of the graffiti world, then the more it becomes art, by this I mean the more skilful, meaningful & (other words) the work is, the more definable it becomes. Baring this, there is a point where art becomes a money currency ie; anything Damien Hurst does, is valuable, but that’s another story.
Lesser complicated forms of graffiti is also art.
The definition of graffiti is under threat as it transforms into the galleries, if it looses it’s criminal element.
I grew up in the 80’s, painting the London underground and streets, fun times!

Fun & some nice pieces. I reckon that was 2 episodes worth of content… ie you could gain more engagement with same amount of work imo.
Noted. So you suggest making shorter episodes rather than full length documentary style like you were watching a doco on netflix, with multiple episodes in a season. (That's what we were going for with the format)
@@DstrukTV this could easily be broken down in to 4 or 5 shorter (approx 5 minute) rapid fire episodes for the attention challenged.

@@DstrukTV I think some people enjoy a longer format, but I get restless. Longer doc is good for in-depth explanations or a story with different ‘chapters’. But this vid wasn’t that kind of thing. It was more a piece of ‘video art’. You clearly put a tonne of work into it. I’d like to see you get max engagement. Shorter vids get just as many likes & comments (with good content, which you have). Shorts are particularly good ‘bang for your buck’. But what matters is what most of your return viewers prefer. Maybe do a community poll?
